How in the absolute fuck do you get your flagship sunk by a nation with no navy, no naval strike aircraft, a handful of anti-ship missiles and you’ve been screaming is about to collapse any minute now?

Oof. Ammunition supply detonated and crew evacuated completely? That's a kill.
Yeah, I didn't think it was legit but now that Russian sources are confirming the ammo went off, there's no way it's still afloat, best case scenario for it is to be at the bottom of a port where it will be raised to be salvaged. Ship ammo explosions are huge and almost always blow the ship literally in half, for example here's pictures of the (admittedly Battleships) Arizona and Yamato, both of which met their end to their ammo going off.

Fun fact, the Yamato's explosion was so big it could be heard at mainland Japan (it was heading toward Okinawa to beach itself for a suicide mission) and knocked several American aircraft out of the sky.

Ship explosions are fucking scary. Some of the ww1 era ones were damn near as powerful as a lower power nuke and would fuck shit up for miles around it when they went off in port.

I think Yamato killed more American airplanes with the last detonation than it killed with its AA systems during the entire battle.

Most infamous example because it was filmed was likely the explosion when HMS Barham capsized. Just the sailors crowding on the hull then seeing the hull buckle and blow

Issue is less that the design is half a century old, it's that the modernized variants are still stuck with outdated APS and no blowout panels plus I believe outdated night vision and thermal sights though I might be wrong on that one.

The age of a design doesn't matter too much if it's designed from the start to have new major modernized variants every decade or so for the foreseeable future. The M1 Abrams and Leopard 2 were both made in the late 70s (in fact they share the same project as an origin point in the MBT-70 program) and they're still receiving new modernized variants and both aren't scheduled to be replaced by a new MBT until at least the 2030s. Yet both are still considered two of the best MBTs in service, even if they are showing their age by now.

If you managed to stick an APS that was actually developed in the 21st Century, put blowout panels on them which has been standard for most militaries with a sizable tank force for decades, you wouldn't see half as many husks of Russian tanks where it's fairly obvious none of the crew are coming home alive.
There's no doubt been modernization programs for both armor and infantry but while somewhat impressive on paper they're hampered by corrupt officials and outdated doctrines. They probably figured that it wouldn't matter too much because they could easily overwhelm a country or invader with numbers but apparently that doesn't seem the case. Especially when outside countries are donating ATGMs to Ukraine and the Russian Army itself is hampered by supply issues. Logistics might not be the most entertaining of subjects but its importance is underlined by the number of abandoned vehicles in what used to be occupied areas.

Most major American cities are an embarrassment. Their cores are falling apart, they're so spread out
This is a very limited take. Just like it's difficult to explain to ignorant Americans that the world is a big place, it's difficult to explain to ignorant foreigners that the United States is an entire continent and there is more to America than the NE megalopolis or California. Most of the South is comprised of relatively newly built infrastructure, architecture, etc. It was where the majority of the civil war was fought so a lot of things needed rebuilding. It was also full of wide open spaces and now people are flocking here by the droves.
(note - I'm not in favor of stuffing people into hyper dense cities, many American cities just happen to be on the other extreme of the spectrum) and atomized (the pods just go horizontal instead of vertical in this case) that most newer suburbs feel like the sanitized, paranoid setting of the Stepford Wives.
Neighbors are rarely talked to.
not even remotely my experience. In a lot of places during the "summer of love" in the suburbs, homeowners gathered together, blocked off their subdivisions and guarded the entrance with rifles as a unit. There is a reason those suburban protests were almost always peaceful and uneventful.
Children won't go outside because where are they going to go? There aren't any nearby parks (instead it's just half-empty surface lots) and even then you don't want to risk them getting kidnapped by some freak or stepping on used needles left behind by some homeless drug addict.
This sounds like your experience comes from the west coast. That is truly a sad story of retarded people fucking up a paradise.

I will also say that the image of "America" has always been a carefully crafted illusion. The one thing that is still true is upward mobility. It's easier than ever to achieve, but it is harder than ever to filter out the lies and traps in life.

This is undoubtedly the best United States that has ever lived, but also the most honest. That makes people unhappy when they realize they've been sold lies.

It's the same ship they famously told to go fuck itself,
Oh, it's that ship? Well, now that it's been pretty much confirmed to have suffered a fire and ammunition explosion, you'd better hope it was the result of a Ukrainian missile. If it turns out to have been the result of careless munitions handling or some other accident, we'll never hear the end of how the ship ultimately did indeed go fuck itself.

Does this mean the SJWs were right when they said words were violence?
