This doubts
Fire is one of the worst things that can happen to a ship at sea, munitions cooking off is just one. I hope they really did rescue everyone.

Also wtf, Russia's had a navy going back to the reign of the Tsars, you think they might have learned how to keep disasters from happening by now.
An ammo explosion on a Russian vessel is basically the end if their tanks are anything to go by.

Foreign fighters for freedom and democracy are not so impressive anymore, are they?

>Please evil bad goy who we absolutely hate, don't put our retarded bong spawn who ran off to kill your soldiers alongside known war criminals in prison
There are going to be a lot of people getting a really rude lesson in how real life isn't some Hollyjew movie when this is all over.

They've never had the priority on damage control that the US has. Mind you, we learned those lessons in blood, there have been horrifying accidents. Here's a past example of a soviet era naval disaster.

Just stopping by to drop some bad news for the "China can salvage this" camp -

China has put 3 of its largest port cities under a more-or-less indefinite COVID lockdown. They're at the point now of people potentially starving due to how shut down they are. Personally, I think this is just the transition stage to them going hermit kingdom again (better to be poor and stable than rich and face political destabilization by a nascent middle class) but whatever the case - China is closed for business.

There will likely be no Chinese involvement at all.

if anything I've learned from this conflict; it is it takes a full 3-5 days to actual truth to come out without video evidence. Russian sources are extremely neurotic over such downtime reports. LMAO. 50/50

The propaganda war is unlikely to matter externally, but internally. We spent literally billions (and still do now in China) trying to propagandise the Eastern Bloc to foment revolts. It didn't work, they only did so once they were given even a modicum of freedom to talk and discuss things. So long as Putin is able to secure the Presidency, the Duma rubber stamps his policies, and the military is in line this will only convince the choir in Russia. It would be far more effective to open channels with select generals and bribe the rest.

Ironic coming from Tedros who is only there to scratch the backs of the Chinese. No one will care about Africa until having a population of 80 million means a space program instead of semi-monthly famines.

Russia is a 4th rate power but has ambitions of playing in the big leagues. Even under the Tsars they were 2nd rate trying to equal the British and Germans. They have the ability to have a large navy, and perhaps an advanced one, but they can only service a small fleet. When you have a reasonably modern submarine fleet as large the US while having an economy that's far less productive than countries like Australia, you get the Kursk disaster and then derivatives every few years. This is something China will be learning soon- it's one thing to have a bunch of gigantic shipyards, it's another thing to have the staff and dockyards on hand to constantly build, maintain, and deploy those ships.

The Russians have always been aquatically challenged.

have you looked at that class of ship, designed to throw giant cruise missiles bristling with launchers. Zero chance a mishap would be just a manpower down issue like the Iowa blowing a turret.
Also good chance it sudoku'ed itself firing as Ukrainians hitting it.

The fuel that propels missiles whether it be solid or liquid isn't going to detonate nearly as violently as powder and those launchers are on the flanks of the ship, not buried inside it.

I can see a scenario like the Russians describe where an uncontrollable fire resulting from an explosion that didn't damage the superstructure forcing an evacuation of anyone who wasn't unlucky enough to be deckside when they were hit.

It's the same ship they famously told to go fuck itself, before it famously killed all their defenders, and they famously all turned up alive to collect their posthumous medals, so pretty good chance it'll come back from Davy Jones' locker
