I found out a couple of days ago Ukraine exports 30% of the world supply of sunflowers. Don't expect that price to come down anytime soon.
Yeah, sunflowers are Slav as fuck because some intellectuals in the Russian Empire like 200 years ago promoted them and they caught on since they're so easy to grow even Native Americans 5,000 years ago did.

Dunno if anyone has infants but amazon doubled the price of our (milk allergy) formula and theres a shortage apparently. My wife is running around picking up whatever stray cans at normal price she can get.

Well shit it's getting dark this time bros. Good news you can start feeding the baby food at 4 months

The worst part :

Baby formula, which three-quarters of babies in the US receive within their first six months, is increasingly out of stock at retailers across the country.....

If only there was some way for mothers to produce food for newborns at home.

This is legit very depressing. Me and my siblings were breastfed and my wife breastfed both our kids. I had no idea the number was this high. This is globo homo trying to establish an additional revenue stream by commodifying your kids. There are legit reasons some women can't breastfeed, but three-quarters? Jesus christ.

If they can't get parental leave and have to work they can't get the milk supply up if they are away to work also they will need to sleep now there are women who manage to do it but I doubt many can beyond few weeks . I couldn't because my mental health is very fragile needed to go back to meds at least i managed to get him the first milk .

I always forget you guys don't have mandated paid leave for new mothers. You can get up to a year and a half up here now.

It's a moot point in my case because my wife is a stay at home mom, but that's neither here nor there.

I'm 90% sure maternity leave is required by law and 100% sure its very common for corpos in the US

It's 12 weeks federally in the US and it's unpaid. Your baby is not going to be off the tit after 12 weeks.

In Canada, women get a year of leave and can collect unemployment insurance the entire time, or they can take a year and a half off while drawing a year's worth of unemployment insurance spread out over a 18 month period. So having a baby is functionally similar to getting a temporary layoff and collecting unemployment benefits in Canada. Here's a good article about the difference.

That's part right in the US. The USA has the FLMA which is 12 weeks min or max with the option to use continuous leave such as annual leave and sick leave back to back with only the doctor's signoff. so if an employee has enough leave saved up, it is a paid vacation with a small baby. It can also be paternal leave.

On topic, though, diary like milk and eggs are price controlled , so we won't see breadlines except for welfare seekers who are already milking the dole. price controls

Reminder that Canada is a bullshit country.

That's absolutely horrifying. In what world can anybody forgo basic biological fact, ignore the two visible, swelling organs on a woman's chest and think "Fucking pointless, just get formula, Mr Goldstein needs his interest!"

The alternative is to pay workers enough that a father can provide for his wife + 2 kids on one income. That's literally unthinkable, and has been for 50 years.

Well, no, the alternative is to subsidise maternity leave at a federal level. If you want to make it even more based, do so for whites and Asians only. Job done.

Normally I would agree, but you pay into employment insurance every week so you can draw benefits when you're laid off or sick. You can draw benefits if you have to take time off to get open heart surgery. Why shouldn't you be able to draw benefits when you have a baby? You pay into this pot of money so you can draw if there's a gap in your employment due to a shortage of work or for health issues or other things along those lines. What logical reason would there be not to pay benefits someone who has taken time off to have a baby? By not supporting working women who want to have kids, it's like the US only wants unemployed white trash and niggers on welfare to be able to have kids.

yes, the us has no underhanded reason for making it impossible for intelligent people to reproduce easily or encouraging retards to breed more retards. none at all.

thread tax:
gas seems to have stabilized between 5.30 (retiree citys), 5.50 (normal), and 5.90 (everywhere else) Only above 6 for large chains bear highways.
Ikea has replaced their plant meatballs with an inferior, mushy and chunky version. No mashed potatoes or juices.
All stock for retail/food is still turning slowly- far less clearance items than usual and items being held off clearance as long as possible just to keep the stores looking full.
Workplaces that have stopped cleaning and masking are reporting higher sick callouts, especially common cold/flu.
Car stock is still terrible and dealerships are desperate to buy up used cars from you.
