So apparently some predominantly Roblox streamer with 17 Million subs is getting into the vtuber game. Her illustrator is rin7914. IE. Lamy's Illustrator.

Hmmm a Vtuber that does Roblox stuff, I'm actually kind of interested in that. Her vtuber model looks pretty different from her other model she goes with. Wonder if she wanted to make this one look more mature or artist took some liberties.

I hope this doesn't open the floodgates of a ton of prepubescent kids invading other vtubers and inevitably turning into coomers.

It seems that UnluckyCat, the mod that chastised Pippa when she was criticizing GameFreak and indirectly led to her now deleted freak out stream that soured people to PC management for a while, has lost their wrench. I noticed this a couple of months ago but couldn't remember what streams they posted in. Anyone have any ideas as to what might have happened?

I thought I escaped that part of YouTube after delving into the world of Vtubers.......

So uh this technically means she's the "biggest" Vtuber in terms of subs now. I guess this is like a Kizuna Ai situation now where the largest subs=/=actual biggest Vtuber or organization in terms of overall influence but this is fucking weird to see.

I'm sorry but that record store analogy is absolutely sublime.

Is it though? I understand the reasoning for the analogy, but the context that he's using it is the same garbage hipster mentality that just leads to people getting uppity over other people's taste in pop culture. To spin the analogy a different way, is not worth getting people in the record store in the first place? Obviously you will get people who run straight to the popular thing and only buy the popular thing because it's popular, but you may also attract window shoppers who want to browse for more music in general, and thus will get at least some exposure to other less popular artists. Not saying it's ever going to be 1-to-1 benefit for the indies, but that "hmph popular music, amirite?" smarminess is hardly conducive when all it breeds is a smug sense of superiority and discourages people from diving further in the hobby because they think it's full of elitists.

Just my own anecdotal evidence, but while Hololive got me in the door and is my main focus (mainly due to time-constraints), I'm at least exposed to Nijisanji and indies because I looked further into the hobby. Just because some people are laser focused on the Hololive branding doesn't mean it isn't at least generating some interest to the scene as a whole.

Seems like she doesn't stream so it's Kizuna-style edited gameplay and other stuff with a nice model that doesn't reek of twitch ArtHack faggotry so chances are she was inspired by proper Vtubers from Japan, perhaps a Yuki-min which is pretty based.

Alright. Though I'm still curious at how big she exactly is. She's a kids channel and they make a bunch of money but beyond that they don't really expand beyond just YouTube unless your Ryan's Toy channel where they made a whole ass toy line.

Kizuna had massive country wide cultural influence in Japan, Nijisanji and Hololive work with the biggest record labels in the world, their in commercials, ads, figures, video games, etc.

No because that was a limited time gimmick for a joke. My mindset is that your a Vtuber if you actually go all in on it and your content from than on incorporates the use of the Vtuber Avatar. It's why I consider Nyanners one at least.
