Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

New Eudoxia video and it's really boring, nothing interesting at all in this video so I would probably skip it. 2 Ring videos, 1 dashcam video and some /x related stuff.
Ok why all of a sudden he's forking over cash to his viewers? Giving away Amazon Gift Cards or PS5s I can see but a cash prize of $50 bucks? Is he just bribing his viewers now at this point?

Something is really smelling rancid over on channel Exdo.

Found the KingSpook video where he's bitching about his channel.

Nexpo grows on me more and more over time, while Night Mind grates on me more and more. Nexpo has had a very noticeable transition in his style, which at first was fairly cringe-inducing, as if it seemed he was trying too hard to come across a certain way, but I think it has paid off. That way of talking hasn't come up alone; he has also developed his video and audio editing skills. At this point, when looking at his last several videos, I think Nexpo has really come into his own. He has a unique aesthetic style which is a match for the sort of things he covers. It means more work for him, too. It probably means more takes on the mic, more time in his editing studio. I think it says he wants his audience to really be engaged and entertained by his work.

Night Mind is doing something else. He's not going for engaging his audience with content quality. This looks like textbook narcissism. He's looking to engage himself by creating a little cult of personality. There's such laziness: simply putting on the original Suez Canal Crab video without any touches from himself. The eating in the video while bitching. Covering only a single Cornerfolk video, then even showing the series playlist and saying "hey there's also more lol." He didn't even mention that Cornerfolk is only one of two of Alex's preexisting series which impressively tie in to his impressive recent one. Of course, Nick has always encouraged his audience to consume the content he covers firsthand, but considering the way this and his recent videos have come across, this is not simply the burnout he cites in the video; this is laziness born of self-aggrandizement.

It's like he considers himself the king of unfiction. He claims Alex Kansas owes him a drink because of something which hasn't even happened: that a bunch of unworthy creators are going to plagiarize Alex's work then attempt to covertly bring Nick's attention to them. He has "jokingly" chastised viewers for not knowing what "Cabin Fever Dreams" is. He repeatedly goes on about the "Night Mind Index," stamping his brand upon a broad, diverse range of independent projects. Take a look at the comments he puts a heart on: They're almost all gagging on his mutated furry cat penis.

In keeping with the narcissistic pattern, look at the effort and quality of some of his old videos compared to his newer ones. For Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, he put on a whole damn puppet show and did actual in-depth commentary for every episode. Now he's sarcastically complaining for having to go through a single sub-ten-minute episode as an addendum for a series that truly isn't even that hard to grasp, and he can't even be bothered to go through all of it. Slam City Comedy puts out stuff way more cryptic than this. Going from high-impact sexual violence to glib disinterest is a classic relationship pattern for sociopathic types.
honestly-he's had that kind of thing for a while-guy gave out puppet figures of himself to patrons and ruined a webseries by trying to make himself the center of attention.

on the MamaMax stuff, I have a feeling something DID happen. He closed his patreon discord, saying "it is too much trouble to moderate", but the fact this happened shortly after the Pablo Sunny stuff has me wondering. Also, for those wondering if any of the stuff he covers is legit-considering google took down the myLOL app from the play store at the same time Max's video went down-it is possible.

Pregnant pause?
A pregnant pause is when you say something and then hold on the statement while the listener knows more is going to be coming. It’s a pause with the expectation that something else is going to happen.

my dad has a terrible joke about beavers where he does it.

Sorry for the late post but i actually (tried to) watch NM's Monument Mythos videos (i had already watched Wendigoon's video around once, currently rewatching it in bits because i wanted to see the comparison) and holy shit lmao, NM just has his signature droning while overexplaining this shit while Wendigoon is his traditional "stoner buddy talking to you about wierd shit) and its fucking amazing how bad NM is lmao, he deadass lets an entire video roll by uninterrupted ofor like 6 fucking minutes

The craziest interrogation you’ll ever see was genuinely infuriating. I expected that autistic ginger was going to be retarded and it was hilarious despite circumstances. But Ellen was cold as shit. Lied about everything and was bpd personified, letting her sisters walk in on a bloody mess with no remorse. That investigator is one tough bitch. I wanted to slap that little girl and tell her everyone knows she’s lying.

The fact that 95% of his viewers aren't allowed into his Discord, but "sex workers" are welcomed with open arms.
And his liberal rants in general (I still haven't figured out what his daughter being pansexual has to do with someone's brutal murder).
Wait, isn’t his daughter really young, like under 10? If she actually claims to be pansexual then it’s safe to assume that her creep dad persuaded her into believing it.

I've been wanting to make a post about that since it's release, but it took me a little time to watch the whole thing.

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned Explore With Us being a poor comparison to Matt Orchard and Jim Can't Swim. They are better than the majority producing low effort True Crime content and have a good choice in subjects. However, they often feel more exploitative, especially in their thumbnails, their analysis didn't feel or wasn't at least conveyed as well as JCS, and their telling of the narrative of the crime wasn't as exceptional as it is with Matt Orchard. I watched their content, but I wasn't excited for a new one like JCS or Orchard.

An example of one of their thumbnails that I think are in poor taste, the one I really disliked was a picture of a girl with the quote "Are all of your holes like that?" Obviously implying something sexual, but it was discussing a first attempt at a shallow grave. I'm guessing however that video has gotten pulled down from Youtube as it was a recent one.

This is a recent example of one where the case was interesting, but they presentation distracted me. It's a man who murdered his girlfriend and shot her brother, while on the run from the law shot and killed a cop trying to arrest him. The interrogation is interesting cause it catches examples of stuff that could be considered police brutality, he's hurt real bad getting interrogated, asking for a doctor they say is coming, but they haven actually called for. He's got handcuffs on too tight that were the ones issued to the cop he killed. The narrator implies during the interrogation coverage that there are dramatic revelations from the trial that impact the interpretation of what the officers are doing. I started thinking there was something interesting there, he was going to beat charges due to the police brutality, mistakes they made in the rush to convict him, or the actual events of the crime being different than presented in the interrogation. Instead, he just convicted, and the premise that they set up of the trial having startling revelations were completely false. It was still an interesting video over all, but that false promotion soured me a bit.

We get to this latest one, and it really highlights some changes that's been made to the channel. In recent videos they started listing the credentials of those analyzing the interogation. They emphasize this is never before seen footage and talked about having a "team of experts" that analyzed the case. It initially felt very insecure to me. However, they did something further in this video that irks me. They are now reaching out to people on social media that knew the criminals, to get interviews. I don't know why it bothers me, its really just doing research, but it feels... try hard? They did read the email response from someone that refused the interview that may of tipped me over on disliking this aspect they are adding.

The video really is great, but it weighs more on the content than the presentation. I'll give them credit, there is a talent to finding good content to cover, but there is just something about that channel that puts me off.

Subscribe to Matt Orchard though, Jesus Christ Explore with Us has 10x the subscriber count he does, and Matt deserves it so much more.
For true crime I like That Chapter. He doesn't shy away from adult language, and makes it entertaining without feeling exploitative or disrespectful in my opinion. He's not afraid to call someone a piece of shit.

I also like MrBallen, even though he tries to push so many different ways to access his content versus actually creating content. Plus he doesn't provide many actual details, and shows a lot of "not the real scrap metal found at the scene" types of pictures. But it's just a guy telling a story in a way that feels natural, like That Chapter and Wendigoon.

Disturban and Explore With Us are generally pretty good. Some of the earlier EWU stuff, especially the girl they had, feels very try-hard. The content is interesting even if the recitation doesn't feel natural like the above.
earlier EWU was very tryhardy but I feel like it was better in a way.

you've now got them doing videos like, well...

upon searching it seems the video that made me unsubscirbe from them has been privated, it was "why is everyone going missing in idyllwild", and it wasn't the only one of the type. they basically go over a case or two, and instead of giving only facts, suddenly they have on people they claim to be related to victims to talk about the case. i have no idea if it is really relatives, and the fact they did not always give us actual names, pictures, or even filmed them talking (only audio) really made me skeptical because anyone can say "Oh yeah I knew/am related to so and so that died!" and it would be something they seemed to jump on without any kind of doubt.

if they have stopped that, kudos to them. it was definitely annoying to have a channel working on true crime, with you know, a big thing being "truth" there spouting random information from people that we, the viewer, have no idea if they are who they say they are.

Speaking of horror channels obviously making profit off of other people's sufferings, did any of them make a video on the Fritzel slave case? I didn't hear about it until recently, and the whole thing is just fucking crazy.

Eudoxia's videos have got shitter as he's got more subscribers, weirdly enough. His more detailed investigations from a while ago are really good, but now that his channel has become more mainstream he seems to just be churning out a bunch of low-effort videos about boring stuff.

I just realized...why the fuck is this thread in Beauty Parlor?
Because for some reason true crime and horror are very feminine interests lol. It's actually pretty wild now that I think about it how many women are into these things, like how did it even start? I'm gonna bet Buzzfeed Unsolved had at least some part to do with it.

Anyway new Dave's Lemonade. How does the defense attorney manage to be more of an insufferable cunt than her client who literally cut open a woman's stomach and stole her fetus?
