The Last of Us Franchise - Because it's apparently a franchise now. This thread has been double-DMCA’d by Sony Interactive Entertainment.

I hate to break it to you, but gaming has been mainstream more than it has not.

You can look back to the mid to late 90's and the early 2000's. Hell look when Pokemon became popular and that it's still going. When you're doing business in the millions and eventual billions, that's not some niche thing that was just recently taken over. It became part of the cultural zeitgeist long ago well before current year.
I meant more in terms of these idiots trying to push instant social change. Its why they're fucking angry over Elden Ring - a super popular good game that's taking the industry by storm and it's not pushing a single goddamn progressive thing in the process, taking the spotlight away from games that are more about the message than the actual game.

EDIT: not to turn this into Elden Ring discussion, but ER might actually push it farther still. Godrick the Grafted legitimately is a hulking monstrosity, but the in-game lore literally states he pretended to be a woman and ran like a fucking coward, got his ass kicked by Melania and Radahn, and to compensate for his lack of power he modified his body in grotesque ways to overcompensate.

Basically the message of Godrick? Don't fucking mutilate your body to change what you are, because it doesn't fucking work.

Nobody's angry over Elden Ring. Outlets told you that some people on twitter tweeted about Elden Ring, but nothing has come of it.

The only instance about Elden Ring that was proven correct were people saying the quest design seemed broken, which a patch later fixed and put the NPCs properly on the map.

What I meant was they're slandering the game in absolutely stupid ways and being angry about bullshit like that, not for any actual flaws.

That's called pushing an agenda, and its all what passes for gaming media nowadays knows how to do.
It's literally clickbait so you can click on it and feel angry and then share it around and tell people how angry you are because ad revenues is monopolized by Google so this all that sites write with at this point since it's proven to work.

Except nobody clicks on it and most of these companies struggle to get any page views. It also fails to be clickbait when literally every outlet is producing shit like this.

Having competition means some aspects are clearly working.
Not in the world of woke bullshit. Hollywood is competing to see who is the wokest mofo and its been a gigantic race to the bottom. The bottom is already falling out of the clickbait industry, with perennial losers like Kotaku and Buzzfeed struggling to remain relevant. The venture capital money that was keeping these assholes afloat is drying up now, and their unsustainability is becoming more apparent.

This was because the actor to Joel couldn't get past the first level in the original game and had to have his Nephew play through part of the game for him. So he has no real experience with the source material first hand much like how everyone who played The Joker were not huge comic nerds.

Yeah but that's not a complete list of Jokers, now is it, Neil? I wonder why...
He left out the only one who was A True Legend™ and GAM*R®

To be fair Batman was mostly syndicated on Nick at Nite which is where most Late Gen X and Millenials would have seen it. In 1966, while cable existed it was not as wide spread by the early 90's most households in America had cable.

That and there's also the horrid Rastafarian version that the short lived The Batman had.

I mean nobody liked this one. Not even Juggalos.

Cuckman in the attempt to justify why the TV show won't utterly bomb disproves himself even now.

Every single Joker he listed, conveniently all the ones that most normie nerds care about or are considered good, all had one similar element: they were not sane and more than willing to commit horrible things for their own purposes.

Sure, Hamill added showmanship and mobster mentality. Yeah, Phoenix was a mentally ill loner and loser. Ledger's was a crazed vet. And Nicholson was just a monstrous mobster. But all committed horrendous acts on others in the desperate grab for the spotlight, for a game, and to validate themselves. That is what binds them under the same blanket. That's also why Romero also nailed the Joker; crimes for attention.

Cuckman absolutely and hideously failed this when he forced the woman and men who actually did most of the plotting of the first game out of the company due to being a spiteful mediocre bitch. He doesn't even understand the basics of a character, at least he refuses to understand it when it disagrees with him.

Pascal's gonna be a shit Joel. He hates the game and so does Cuckman.

Whenever they start talking like this, you know a disaster is incoming.

They did the same preemptive damage control with the Halo show and it's turning out to be one of the year's biggest trainwrecks.

Which is a shame since I think the producer of Chernobyl is on TLOU: The Show and Chernobyl was good.

Wow Neil, how very insightful of you. Not like anyone else could come up with a take like that.

Also it's most definitely nothing because he only named the most notable Jokers but I find it funny that he didn't include his buddy Troy in that list. Although IIRC Troy was just doing a Mark Hamill impression anyway so technically it's not unique.
