Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Some Blue Sky artists got together for one last time and made a small tribute animation for the studio.

For as mixed (to bad) as their output was by the end, this is a pretty nice sendoff.
My little buddy finally got his nut.
Damn. As someone who loved the original Ice Age as a kid, this legit hit me in the feels. :'(

I've been recently watching some classic Ren and Stimpy, and say what you will about John Kricfalusi, but that motherfucker knows how to draw. That Happy Happy Joy Joy clip is a masterpiece of fluid animation, dynamic pace, and excellent color choices.

He didn't board the sequence, that was Bob Camp. He didn't animate it, that was done in Canada. He did write the song, though.

Still, it's a good sequence, and not really something that would get made today. Who was the person behind Mr Horse?
John K. did the voice, then Billy West after he was fired.

A nice piano arrangement of The Little Lulu theme

A few days late and not sure if brought up but voice of the anime Lulu is not with us no more

Maybe repost this in the anime thread, but let's pour one out for the star of Candy Candy, why don't we?

He would probably be a nightmare to work with.
If you’ve ever seen him cover Hotline Bling:

I will gladly take that chance

Broke: “Ice Age was a really great movie.”
Woke: “Scrat was the real hero in the Ice Age movie.”

I don't care if Ice Age went to shit, this video alone has more soul than whatever Disney is fucking making at the moment.

Oh and I also found this on a /co/ board.

That particular episode of Superman was a rather good one. Not just for Gottfried voicing the annoying little imp but for also being the episode where Superman thwarted him every single time by outsmarting him to a frankly magnificent degree and being borderline blasé about it by about midway too. And it still remained pretty funny throughout. It felt less like a Superman episode and more like an old Loony Tunes one.

I got around to watching The ghost and molly McGee, and I gotta say as much as disney is really pushing it with all these "tween girl with attitude" shows to where it's getting old. GAMM is definitely a good one, between Owl house turning to ash in my mouth in just a season and Amphibia being set to end with a third. GAMM Is a decent follow up to both, especially since its more focused on humor and is a more slice of life show than the fantasy adventure shows owl house and Amphibia were.

Seriously though aside Milo murphy's law has their been any Disney television animation shows with the lead being male and a focus on slice of life? Aside Milo murphy the only other one i recall is Phineas and Ferb which has been on again off again with specials (but no new seasons) that's become something of a living zombie of show.

The general decline of holiday specials has hit the holidays that weren't particularly well-represented. Easter, for example. When was the last time you saw Vincent Price camping it up as an evil rabbit who wants to ruin the holiday?

Oh yes, there's also this classic.

Sad, but I suppose non-Christians have won this one

No joke I watch the Most Offensive Peanuts specials alongside the originals every holiday. Those guys were ingenious parodic comedians, and the world became a little less brighter the day they dropped off the face of the Internet
