My favorite outcome in this situation is Dream stans calling the wayback machine “unreliable” and “leaktwt”.

Dream is just digging himself a deeper hole by lying about the edit.
Ah yes.... the 'everything I don't like is unreliable' strategy. totally provable in spite of the fact the wayback machine is provably reliable and it's just a matter of how you use it.

in other news.......apparently on pixi's space, she said that Dream had a big dick so now smiletwt is salivating over that. not particularly interesting news, just a handful of cringey tweets.

while i'm not super familiar with Dream's videos, i've noticed that in them he comes off as a fairly normal dude (strictly his vids, not anything he's Tweeted or whatever the fuck) which make his psycho simps seem extra odd by comparison.
In most livestreams and videos when he's not playing his DreamSMP character, the guy tends to be fairly chill and personable. He also seems to have a positive reputation among the non-MCYT creators he's interacted with, such as Charlie, Mutahar, Ludwig, Jacksepticeye, and Trainwreck. My guess is that if he laid off the spaztic tweets, he'd be a lot less disliked by the masses.

there is an obvious trend that more "tame" content has much more hostile and aggressive fanbases, but in this case, it's utterly extreme. i always wondered what it was about Dream in particular that draws such an insane crowd.
Around the time Dream's fanbase started getting more rowdy, Unus Annus ended and Game Grumps started begging people to stop making NSFW art of their employees. My theory is that the insane stans in those two communities mixed together and got drawn to the DreamSMP creators as a replacement for their obsession.

Thank you for letting me know. I didn't mean to point the finger at anybody in particular, just any lurkers who might have participated, but I'll keep the moral fagging to myself next time.

Sorry if I came off as rude earlier btw, I was just a little on edge bc there were/are rumors of legal action going around on twitter, and I didn't want the farm to be liable for that.
Any and all information that's posted on Kiwi Farms is protected under Section 230. Under section 230 websites are not legally liable for what other users post on their website. It's why modern social media even exists at all.

As for the Dream being a younger, taller version of the gunt I agree with this sentiment.

Interesting thing about Charlie is that his original thoughts on Dream were hardly positive and Dream Stans started attacking him over it. I don’t 100% remember what changed his point of view on Dream, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was the classic maneuver Clay does of “hunt them down and make them like me.” when it comes to big creators.

If Dream really wants to be Gunt the II he needs to fly to Portugal and get his ass beaten by the locals, or do a gunt kiss with a tranny, or put his finger inside a groupies butt.
Why not have Ethan Ralph do the festival in his address, maybe he can give Clayton a glimpse of his future. Hell for all we know he might be the gunt's son.

I remember thinking that the internet would forever change the social institution we call celebrity, that celebrity-by-nepotism would go away and be replaced by celebrity-by-merit.
In fact what happened is that celebrity status in the internet age is decided by the nearly random, runaway-prone workings of black box algorithms controlled by capricious Silicon Valley employees.

Somewhere squirreled away in a Google datacenter, a recommender engineer decides that kid-friendly Minecraft content is just what YouTube needs to really appeal to those coveted advertisers, and starts pushing Dream's videos. Toddlers fall asleep watching them, and their drool hits the like button. In the span of a year this random obese faggot who makes fake Minecraft speedruns becomes a household name, and an enormous influence on an entire generation's culture. A morally deficient, unremarkable tubbo you might pass by at a gas station and mentally cringe at, raised to near-deity status by a tech industry Rube Goldberg machine.

It occurs to me that this is not at all a better system of celebrity than the old one. I would rather celebrity status be decided by backdoor Hollywood jew-nepotism than whatever the fuck made this Dream guy so omnipresent everywhere I look.

Would prefer to just say "popular" and have varying levels of different adjectives to describe how popular they are. e-Celeb and by extension, influencer, are stupid fucking words, especially the latter, because having big numbers doesn't automatically make you able to influence, and having small numbers doesn't mean you can't change the tide of interest or actions.

Case and point the UKIP in 2018 and 2019. They literally got two e-celebs (Soygon and Dankula) to run as MEPs in their respective districts in a failed hope to boost party ranks. In spite of both channels having hundreds of thousands of subscribers they only got 28,418 votes in Scotland (1.8%), and 53,739 in South West England (3.22%) respectively. In total UKIP lost all of it's seats in the European Parliament, it's political leadership got raped, and the party practically destroyed itself because of the fallout with Nigel Farage rubbing salt in the wound by forming the Brexit Party.

Keep in mind at the time these two were political e-celebs. If political e-celebs have no hope of boosting a party and instead crash it, what makes anyone think that a normal e-celeb could do so without alienating a significant portion of their audience?

You're making this a way bigger deal than it actually is. While it is true that the process of becoming an online celebrity isn't any better than becoming an IRL one, Dream doesn't nearly have as much of an influence on the Minecraft-loving youth as you claim. Hell, I have a younger sibling that hasn't even heard of Dream, and people outside of this forum have made fun of this guy ever since his infamous "mask" music video.

E-celebs who go into politics tend to forget the fact that local elections are won by getting the vote of the local population. English-speaking Youtubers for example tend to forget a lot of their audience and subscriber base can be international which doesn't translate well to national politics usually, although if your say a Danish youtuber who primarily does Danish videos you may have better odds simply because most of your viewers are most likely Danish anyway.

On the subject of e-celeb fame and what not though Dream (while successful) is currently little more then a member of a fad and will be forgotten gradually as he gets further and further away from his peak as a Youtuber like what what happened to so many other people that made Minecraft content in the past. His sub count and such will remain the same but he will have to either adapt to the constantly changing trends of Youtube or embrace Minecraft and ride it until it loses popularity. Option 1 would allow him to keep the "dream" alive in a sense in terms of finances, Option 2 would see a decrease in views but at least it would be what he knows. Either way due to his now-over boom period 5-6 years from now I predict his comments will be flooded with comments relating to nostalgia as his fans become adults.

I agree that the moist boy has gotten too arrogant.
But for a different reason that actually makes sense, then...talking a little shit about a Minecraft YouTuber.
The thumbnail says “Dream has gotten too arrogant” which is quoting Charlie’s words in the video.
Charlie is a bit more “holier than thou” these days tho.
