bad choice in material from the off aside, it would have been so easy, there is so much detailing there which could have been used to disguise and trick the eye, into showing a more feminine shape, or even just doing the outfit justice to what it is, if you're really gonna just pull something off the catalog peg.

I think that Olly lasted this long because before transition, he was so unremarkable that no one even bothered to send him hate. he was a completely average bumbling white guy and they never seem to receive the same level of scrutiny and seething e-rage until they do something beyond the pale….

Contra and Lindsay Ellis have been receiving hate for years and years which ramped up to the Twitter mob being after them repeatedly. As far as I know Olly got a taste of it by voicing in one of contras vids and then the mob told him to publicly disavow her… but otherwise there hasn’t been all that much to need resilience.

I don’t doubt that the online attacks are stressful (even if it is a “career” of their choosing, and made worse by them) but Olly hasn’t really had the experiences that drive others over the edge. With his very fragile ego I’m sure he’d be very bothered if the mob came for him. He’s been very upset by a couple Reddit pages gone awry lol lol

Nah they're all deeply unhappy people and this goes way beyond mean comments online, but Olly's fragility is ironically what's gonna keep him intact longer than the rest. Olly's nearly impervious to reality; while Contra will spend thousands on skincare/haircare/makeup/clothing/surgery/etc etc etc and still break down in tears over five nanometers of hairline loss, Olly will slap on a forty dollar dress and pin his "most fuckable woman" award to his chest and proudly appear in front of crowds, cameras, do guest appearances interviews etc.

Olly's just not like other breadtubers living ten months out of the year in a cocoon of mucus and dirty laundry and soviet literature trying to reason how spending all of one's time doing drugs and watching Minecraft mpreg porn helps the working class at all, he's out there being WOWZERS such an inspiring celebrity girlboss and this just gets compounded the more random shit he involves himself in. I hope Olly gets a big break soon, personally I'd love to see him star in a new Catwoman movie.

One of the things that make Ol' Lies so funny to me is his bleak and hollow fakeness. He isn't even a simulacrum - a copy without an original - he's a simulacrum of multiple simulacra, hollowly copying several copies with no originals. It's exactly the same whether it's his philosophy "studies", acting, activism, trans femininity, or style and clothing. He doesn't have an ounce of genuine originality or uniqueness and he seems completely oblivious to this sorry nature of his existence.

He tried the accent for his girlboss character in the Food video. It was off but honestly not that bad when stacked up against every other element of his acting. A few botched syllables are nothing compared to his general alienesque inability to express natural human warmth.

I don't know much about the world of TV and film acting but I swear you never see other people blabbing about stuff?

From what I have picked up, its considered not just gauche but the general theme in telly and film is quite secretive so I guess its just best practice to not flap on constantly. A huge amount of big actors dont bother with (a public) social media at all.

So he's had 3 proper roles, all of which scored and produced before anything else had been on show.

Be interesting to see if he manages to keep much going after his rapidly deflating bubble goes down even more (and he demonstrates what a knob he is both on and off set-
I've mentioned it before- and despite her graciousness- but the Nigella blabbing will have been taken notice of, also the LGBT award bait and switch.

All these things, very recently, will have combined to mark him out as less of a brilliant person than he prides himself on being

The Food video was filmed in August, released on the 28th. I wonder whether he inserted the girlboss segment after nabbing the role in Chivalry, to flex an accent he had (to his mind) provably perfected, or before, as a sort of acting reel to send to casting directors filling American parts. The whole Kelli Slaughter nonsense would make more sense to me if it were part of his hustle — it had so little to do with the rest of the video and came off very much like a detour engineered to showcase the character at the expense of the ideas.
