Marvel Cinematic Universe

Also is it me or is the MCU going to his head. I'm seeing levels that I hadn't seen in even Brie Larson.
Going by his filmography on Wikipedia, Shang-Chi was his first major role in a big budget movie, so he is basically one of those first time actors who land a role on a big blockbuster and suddenly feel like the greatest human being to ever live

Exactly, his only other role that could be considered something close to famous is Kim's Convenience. He's not even the most loved character in the show either, not to include, it goes against his entire bullshit here if you know his character in the show (I saw that whole thing till it's end, I assure you this personally).

That makes since to be honest he seems like one of those new actors who get way over their head after staring in a major movie. As in they are usually convince they will become the next Tom Hanks.

I remmber when he was trying to act like Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee didn't exist during the press tour.
that still makes me MATI, I'm a martial arts sped because of them and Jet Li as well, I was even interested in the film because of that and then this yellow nigger shows up and pretends they don't exist and its up to HIM to give us a cool chink character. Fuck outta here Simu Liu you're not even a TRUE & HONEST chink.

Yeah that pretty much piss me off as well. Especially since Bruce Lee actually had to fight racism for his career well this guy pretends he doesn't exist and that twitter trolls count as fighting racism. Like seriously what a fucking peice of shit. After that I basically knew he was going to be a annoying MCU actor.

I have never seen a marvel in my life

He comes across as someone that got a chip on his shoulder that his career didn't take off faster than it did. Yet didn't struggle or take long enough to take off for him to get some perspective and be humble.

Just a steady rise to finally getting on a well-liked, well-regarded TV show. One that probably had a really large global audience, yet never became regarded as a big show.

He finally gets cast in a big movie, and all his ego goes rushing to his head. Yet he has that chip on this shoulder that it didn't come sooner. Has latched onto the current discourse on race and woke shit. He was entitled to it, but because he's Chinese it didn't happen sooner. Then with this mindset, he's a hero breaking through oppression.

Add to that the fact his film came out during a pandemic, having a lower box office take than it otherwise would have. So everything is bruising his ego. He's gotten to where he wanted to be, but it's not enough and he's pissed off.

ironically that plays straight into the "chinks are insecure manlets" stereotype he claims to be fighting against
