I have to wonder, does anyone with sense take the average ratings on RateYourMusic seriously? That site just seems to be infested with minors and troons.

As someone who spends a decent amount of time on rym using it as a tool to discover music and catalog stuff I've listened to/want to listen to, it's a bit depressing to see the site start to go the way of goodreads. There's some users that I enjoy hearing what they have to say but man is the other crowd obnoxious. Since this post is probably about Calli's low rating that's probably being posted on /vt/, it's worth noting that Suisei, Marine, Towa, Mito and Kaguya Luna all have decent ratings (Unison being listed as one of the top 100 singles of 2021) so it's not just a knee-jerk reaction to vtubers and more to do with Calli's music itself. I don't know if that reflects rym or just how up their own ass the hip hop fantano watching crowd is about things being cringe.
