World of Warcraft

So they're revealing yet another expansion on the 19th. I'd rather know how much Diablo 4 is going to cost and the release date.

$40/$60/$80 is how they've been pricing shit for the last couple of years.

$40 for the game. $60 for the collector's edition with WoW mounts and OW skins. $80 for the Ultimate Edition which includes even more worthless shit for games you don't play.

Newest PTR has released a video for 9.2.5 showing scourge once again attacking Quel'thalus.
This probably means the leak about the next expansion is true, as they mentioned it would be a Dragon Island theme with Quel'thalas playing a role. Chromatis is going to be the end boss or the boss that's going to be the instigating incident. There also won't be a leveling experience it will all be end game zones.

I don't care for the price for WoW expansions. I usually buy them with gold. I only care about the Diablo 4 price since that could be $55 or it could be $80. While I've been liking Diablo 2's remake I find it's a little more difficult than the base game with creatures dealing a little more damage (I know why it's doing that too, but too long of a post to explain it) but enjoying it so I hope Diablo 4 is similar in terms of enjoyment. I wish I could say that about the current WoW expansion. I just use it to make gold and buy other games.

Again? Quel'thalas hasn't even recovered from the first Scourge sacking or as far as I knew even closed the gaping hole in their wall. I guess the scourge are back to steal some more of the foundation they left the last time.

Is there an actual ingame reason why they didnt repair the city properly beyond "this is TBC content"?

Speaking of TBC, Sunwell has just been released on the Ptr. It's speculated that WOTLK classic will be released October/November.

I read through the Wowpedia articles on Quel'Thalas and Silvermoon, and there's no lore mentions of any rebuilding done after the restoration of the Sunwell. It's possible the writers forgot about the region and didn't bother to ever include a blurb about elvish construction projects. I would imagine that logically, Silvermoon would be in better shape by now with mages being able to tap into the Sunwell, but again, no mention of this. Hell, it's apparently canon that Rommath and his mages rebuilt half of Silvermoon overnight when they learned how to mana tap, but they couldn't handle the rest with an infinite magic source available?

Outside of the lore, the reason it hasn't been fixed is because Blizzard doesn't give a shit about updating 15-year-old content. Quel'Thalas is still on the Outland world map despite BC being part of the base game since 2011, so you still have to go through that weird portal north of the Plaguelands and hit a loading screen to get up there (same goes for the draenei islands). There's no way in hell they'll ever go back and update a city that barely anybody bothers to visit and two low-level questing zones.

Nope. @King Dead was fairly accurate when it came to the why. They don't intend to update the TBC content even though its ancient and very out of focus. The video linked looks like they might be trying to finally update it in a fashion or they're just retelling the same story of the Ghostlands again.

Keep in mind lots of "canon" states in the game for many, many, many years were never reflected. The Exodar for instance was already repaired to the point that the Draenei considered leaving Azeroth. Allegedly Gilneas has been reclaimed then un-claimed again because nobody in their lore team likely read the book where it happened.

One thing I will say is people DO love Quel'thalas as a location. Mostly roleplayers of course but they're enough of a potential group who'd like to see it that there would be at least some modest incentive. Will they? Probably not, Modern Blizz does not give the mildest of fucks.

This is rather bad. They don't need to make the new whatever into a retard school girl demanding that coach put her into the game because she's ready. They also shouldn't do the whole thing where a villain pops up at each objective, gets bonked, and then reappears to be bonked again, that just makes a very gay villain, not a threatening one.

Since they were going to roll BC into the base game in Cata anyway, that would have been the perfect time to unite the various Azeroth regions onto the same map and rebuild the maps to support flight. The only reason they split them off into the Outland map in the first place was because they wanted to keep those zones restricted to those who bought BC, even if that really didn't make much sense in the long run. Maybe they didn't know they were going to make BC free while they were developing Cata and the old world rework, I dunno.

Point is, they had a good opportunity to do it then, and plenty of time since then, but they haven't, so they never will. There's just not a good return on investment there, and that's what it boils down to. Better to make another shop mount that a bunch of people will fork over money for than to put actual effort into something of substance.

The story just gets more and more convoluted:

Guys a little clickbaity in his titles and such.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious where they're going with this.

It's either going to be a slow burn to 'redemption' for Sylvanas or she's just going to be so amazingly cool that we can't help but gush over how bad-ass she is when the Alliance and Horde come crawling back to her.

You know, I remember a time when the writers would look at a character who had completed their arc and decide "Alright, that is that. Let's put'em away".

They didn't do this all the time, of course, but they had the decency to do it occasionally...Or maybe the always intended on having a plan to bring old characters back for a quick buck and I'm letting nostalgia blind me, but I do remember reading an article all the way back in 2013-3014 of a lead Blizzard writer saying they'd never bring Arthas back because they felt his story ended on such a worthy note.
