World of Warcraft

chat erupted with pride flags and puke emoticons.
Ahh, the duality of mankind.

On topic though, as someone that quit in 8.1, and haven't played since, I'm not gonna lie, some of the concepts they've shown off today are certainly interesting.

However, I doubt I'll return. I'll be keeping an eye out to see if things improve on the gameplay and lore aspect, and if it is, perhaps a return in 11.0 or 12.0 will be in order.

I'm not about to just jump back into WoW at the drop of a hat. The devteam are still patting each other on the ass's telling one another they've done a great job. That's not what it needs. What it needs is the community to actually build back up and start enjoying things again.

TLDR: interested but highly sceptical.

Also WotLK Classic too.
BC struggled with the player population a few months after release.
I had trouble finding looking for groups when I tried doing dungeons in BC classic.
I doubt that there's going to be more people playing WotLK, especially with Blizzard's current state.
No, everyone loves WotLK. I'm coming back for it.

No borrowed power and a redone talent system seem neat.

The fucking scaley dragon class looks really stupid. If they were gonna go mail healer why not do an alchemist or tinkerer?!

I like the dragon lore so this already has a leg up on Shadowlands for me returning at least, but with so many games out this year I kind of doubt I will.

Changes confirmed for Wrath Classic:
Personal Arena Rating
No Dungeon Finder
Barber Shop (hinted it be more akin to retails then the original one)

Probably an unpopular opinion but dungeon finder is fine. I loved being able to grind heroics for badges back in Wrath and I met some of my best WoW friends using that tool.

A new expansion, a new spiel about "really listening to player feedback". Almost feels like it's the only thing Ion ever talks about, besides systems.

Lizard people are beyond awful. We could've had something cool like the Dragonborn, a proper warrior race, instead we get genderspecial, dangerhair super unique and awesome OC twinks straight from deviantart.

Beyond that the announcement is... eh. Looks like they're focusing on revamping the game's system, which is the right decision. I just don't have much hope for the results.

I mean the guy they brought in to talk about talent trees couldn't balance his own gender, how the fuck is he gonna balance the classes is anyone's guess.

That's because BC as an expansion didn't really have a ton of longevity if people were retarded and tried to burn through it lightning-fast. The playerbase's obsession with speedrunning/hyperoptimizing to levels far and beyond what you'd ever see on private servers combined with forcing that view down on -everyone- playing such that people burned up all of the content in about a month which could have lasted several had they not been total spergs.

The reputation grind was built to take a while and keep the average person invested, doing maybe a few dungeons a day once they got to max level if they were playing fairly actively. Except everyone screamed and yelled and shit themselves if you played the game in a way that was different from "just buy gold, boost the character to 60, then speed run the dungeons over and over and over until you hit the rep cap for normal mode, then do the quests for the rest." People dropped melee classes like flies because it might add a hot five minutes onto a clear time, and speds once again turned the game into "play this meta speedrun strat or get out."

Who the fuck has fun with those kind of people except for those kind of people? The continued dominance of the same kinds of speds that turned the original classic from a Boomer Meet-N-Greet Grill-N-Chill into a massive money siphon straight into PF Chang's Gold Factory drove everyone else off. Socializing was a huge part of these old, more barebones games... and why would I want to interact with the kind of fucker that spends $200+ a month at minimum on a fucking MMO?
They stated removal of dungeon finder from Wrath Classic.
Genuinely based and I would be very tempted if they at all did fucking anything about gold buying and boosting. When Wrath first dropped all the way up until that tool came out, it was such a good time.

A few months back I briefly rolled a dude on the Warmane private server and was having a good time... right up until I realized I could just hit a button, teleport halfway across the world to a dungeon with randos, and that was going to be effectively the only way to level from that point onwards. I had wondered why for having such a big active population, there were so few people in the world.

I literally never saw any social interaction in the dungeon finder from the very instant that tool dropped. The only time I saw people talk in dungeons after its implementation was either to bitch at a wipe / minor inefficiency, or if the party was a premade from my guild and we were just shooting the breeze.

The best middleground would be for them to enable you to just search for parties on your own server. Offer up the convenience, but don't completely kill the sense of community. At the very least, let there be a battlegroup/server toggle - but that'd require effort, so fat chance.

I agree, I think current day finder is terrible and something like a party finder for the server would work out better.

New lore won’t fix the previous expansions bad lore unless it specifically states BFA and Shadowlands are not canon.
New dragon race looks meh at best, with its human forms looking disgustingly cluttered.
Art team does NOT carry and have not been carrying the game for years now, people need to stop praising them for making less than average art.
New zones aren’t interesting.
New class looks barebones and highly derivative.
Flight mechanics are a feature that literally will only hold peoples interest for an hour at most.
Ui redesign fixes a symptom not the issues.
Talent trees coming back are just pandering and will probably play no different from post mop talents.
They of course nerfed Mommystraza.
No addressing of how the game is too raid focused
No addressing of how Mythic + has stagnated.
Nothing at all about PvP.
All in all, 2/10 horrible. The only reason I’m not glad I stopped playing in Shadowlands is that I should have stopped after Legion.

Will be looking to Riots mmo in the future, because at least their worst is still palatable.

so correct me if I’m wrong but the dragon race is just reskinned Worgen, right? I feel they could have done so much more with a dragon hybrid race. It just feels lazy
