Social Justice Warriors - Now With Less Feminism Sperging

I agree with BrooklynDad_Compliant, we should throw out bankruptcy law completely so that Alex Jones can not escape his paying of zero dollars to the Sandy Hook families. (The court has not yet determined what damages Jones may owe to the families and his filing of bankruptcy will not necessarily allow him to avoid this especially since an actual bankruptcy proceeding could fuck up his entire attempt to hide his assets.)
What it will do is immediately stay all relevant proceedings and if the parties want to attempt collection anyway, they'll have to file a motion to lift the automatic stay, presumably on the grounds that it was an intentional tort to falsely accuse families who had just suffered the murder of their child of absolutely vile things, resulting in psycho fans calling them with death threats, etc. And he defaulted, basically admitting all the allegations.

They still have to prove actual damages.

Well... apparently the judge ruled he defaulted. Jones & his attorney claim they submitted all paperwork and evidence requested and more so...

Could be fun seeing how much of a show trial this is.

Well, that's the current procedural posture. With default over discovery misconduct, that is considered the most drastic sanction that can be imposed. It does not in this case mean that Jones failed to appear or participate in the proceedings. The court (courts actually as he also defaulted in Texas) has actually justified its order in a fairly detailed written opinion (unlike some judges in Texas I could mention), so whether or not it was legally sound is probably subject to a less deferential standard of review.

When drastic sanctions are appropriate is also a fairly important legal issue to any other cases in the pipeline, so it should be addressed (relatively) speedily.

I went into this in a fair amount of detail in the Jones/Infowars thread so I won't repeat that here. Although lengthy, it's more or less off the cuff and not based on a full reading of both cases. It will take a while to catch up as they're fairly voluminous.

We'll have time, though, because sorting out the whole bankruptcy stay thing will take a while.

Thx. I work with lawyers and that's hitting up against what I've picked up by osmosis as a lot of it sounds like a bunch of justification on how they're breaking rules but not quite technically exactly...

Some days you think maybe we should bring back dueling.

I honestly expected them to drag Jones like they did Trump when it came to bankruptcy. "He's a broke failure kind of thing." InfoWars is doing better now than it was pre-social media so maybe that's why.

Apparently Alex is being accused of having a secret bank account where he's hiding $16 million and this is his attempt at proving that to be false.

Ok then...

I used to enjoy making up hidden meanings in films and TV - like rambling about how the Super Mario Brothers movie was actually a piece of subversive art that at it's core was around communist rhetoric, distorting a mass-media product into a dystopian piece of satire that firmly had an anti-captialist message behind it. Or how The Wizard of Oz was actually about America's growing role in the world, World War 1, the decline of the British Empire and instability across Europe. Or how Flash Gordon is really just a re-telling of the life of Jesus Christ ("Saviour of the Universe / He'll save every one of us / King of the impossible"). And so on.

Difference is, I knew full well what I was saying was retarded. People these days suck the fun out of everything.
Tell me about it. Here's a typical example of a video trying to justify this line of thinking.
Basically, this pseudo-intellectual hack who goes by the name of "Suris The Skeptic" (and whom I've talked about numerous times in the Breadtube thread and a couple of times on Euphoric Atheists, Vtubers and even here recently) responds to's call-out of video games becoming too political and less fun saying the usual "ackshully, vidya has always been poltical, get rekt" and at one point even tries to claim Super Mario is political (no grasping at straws here).
The hatred and contempt these people have for blue collar workers is depressing. I don't think hatred is too strong a word, and the contempt is obvious as to require no explication. Damn.
Ironic, considering the Left is supposed to represent the common folk
