What it will do is immediately stay all relevant proceedings and if the parties want to attempt collection anyway, they'll have to file a motion to lift the automatic stay, presumably on the grounds that it was an intentional tort to falsely accuse families who had just suffered the murder of their child of absolutely vile things, resulting in psycho fans calling them with death threats, etc. And he defaulted, basically admitting all the allegations.I agree with BrooklynDad_Compliant, we should throw out bankruptcy law completely so that Alex Jones can not escape his paying of zero dollars to the Sandy Hook families. (The court has not yet determined what damages Jones may owe to the families and his filing of bankruptcy will not necessarily allow him to avoid this especially since an actual bankruptcy proceeding could fuck up his entire attempt to hide his assets.)
They still have to prove actual damages.
