Decided to make this after some urging in the Bashurverse thread, especially since it's recently come to light that yet another prominent YTer, LionMaker, is a pedophile, following Bash himself and... another guy whose handle I can't remember right now. Anyway, even the ones who aren't total degenerates are usually screechy and stupid PewDiePie wannabes. People like SkyDoesMinecraft, TheDiamondMinecart, PopularMMOs, etc. etc.

The fuck, how are those things that exist?

I also never got the idea of why you'd even want to play a free-roaming game like Minecraft to begin with. I'd figure it's get boring in like, say, five minutes (if you're lucky).

Minecraft is a great little creativity toy. Unfortunately, the community is comprised of rabid shrews that spend 99% of their time in pitched screaming matches.

i was the store the other day and saw minecraft youtuber plush dolls *sigh*
It's worse over here, months ago those things suddenly showed up in every store by me... The damn things took shelf space away from the clothes and electronics departments, and a hellish amount too. They even had the things on those little end caps and by the registers. Nobody was buying them until recently though. The company making them also makes actual minecraft figurines as well, and is known for poor quality control. Somehow these things are of even more dubious quality than usual.

I'm surprised There hasn't been a lawsuit with the ones that based their avatars on copyrighted material.

I just remembered an example of drama that involved Minecraft youtubers called Mineorama.
Mineorama was supposed to be a Minecraft convention held in New York City. One of the draws was opportunities for attendees to interact with a bunch of popular youtubers at the time (https://web.archive.org/web/20140704002012/http://www.mineorama.com/event-highlights/) The tickets were $150 with $50 extra for an all night lan party. With lighter wallets, people went to NY only to have the event cancelled (surviving screen cap of rage: http://kotaku.com/postponed-minecraft-convention-leaves-some-people-calli-1601836618). Event head Lou Gasco and (now deceased) youtuber King Jo Jo made off with about $500k. A few of the youtubers who got scammed then pulled together and made their own convention (http://youcubemeetup.com/#). The twitter account used for Mineorama then got hacked and taken over (https://twitter.com/mineorama).
Mineorama, A.K.A how to use Minecraft youtubers into duping people into giving you autismbux and running off into the sunset.

"These people who make money playing a video game for children are people I don't like, therefore they are Lolcows."

Umm... sorry, but if we're gonna start making Lolcow threads based on every single YouTube following we don't like, we're gonna have about 50 new pages in Community Watch.

What bothers me isn't the fact that these things exist or that they're called heroes, it's that there are people out there who are actually willing to buy them.

Those are called Tube Heroes, and they were a part of the Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood's "TOADY" awards this year. The TOADY's are kind of an anti-Toy of the Year thing that are plugged and promoted by The Consumerist each year. The Tube Heroes series lost out to the Barbie doll that listens to your voice and sends it to Mattel or whatever.

Minecraft is just cringe all around. We all remember this:

The creator of that video also made one for 2015's Minecon which has its own share of cringe material. My favorite is the retard spitting out Twitch memes.

(There is not a 2014 compilation that I am aware of.)

It's one of those "emergent gameplay" type games, one of the first that I can think of. While I don't particularly like Minecraft, I can't wait for No Man's Sky, which is exactly what I think those types of games should be.

So instead of tv shows like Spongebob or whatever kids are now watching people play games that try to be equally wacky and XD RANDUM?
I remember when Minecraft came out it was a real man's game, the rise of children being the main demographic makes sense because it really is unlimited lego with the ability to adventure around and also you don't end up stepping on legos

Anyway, I don't see this being a good thread because, while Minecraft youtubers are cringey and autistic they mostly seem to not chimp out. Unless you can provide some prime examples of super autism or super chimping this thread will go no where

Apparently that LionMaker guy posted child porn on his Twitter and was outed as a pedophile by the girl he sexed with.
