They only work if the country doesn't have a trump card to play. Most of the weight behind sanctions is "US citizens and companies cannot do business with companies in this country." So unless you're in the Weapons/Defense/Aeronautics industry, 99% chance it means nothing to you. Russia supplying a majority of gas to Europe is their trump card; the EU is a consoomer and thought they were gonna dictate the how and why of Russia delivering gas; like they're some retard in Wal-Mart yelling that the customer is always right. The EU wanted to go along with the USA and play stupid; so Russia put the screws to them, while apparentltpaying off its debt to central banks and buying gold for its reserve. It may not be so bad right now as it's warming up; but if this shit lasts through the year, lots of heating of homes is gonna be by burning things.

It also doesn't help that the bankers want to crash the USA. So even if we were hurting Russia; we'd also be cutting our own wrists while asking Vlad if it hurts.
