Ever think you can't be racist just because you're black? Well, it seems that you can over the Easter weekend.

Woke Ariz. diversity activists falsely accuse black DJ of wearing blackface

Two local diversity advocates in Arizona are taking heat after calling a school district racist for hiring a DJ to perform in blackface — but it turns out the DJ was black.

Stuart Rhoden and Jill Lassen — who specialize in diversity, equity and inclusion — lambasted the Scottsdale Unified School District’s Hopi Elementary PTA for its decision to hire Kim Koko Hunter, 56, a local black DJ, at a charity event.

Both Rhoden and Lassen, who are involved in diversity work in the school district, slammed the school after seeing a picture of Hunter, only to later learn his race, according to the Arizona Daily Independent.

“The DJ that the Hopi PTA hire[d] was, in fact a Black man,” Hopi PTA president Megan Livengood wrote in response to Lassen in a message obtained by the outlet. “It is insulting that you feel myself or PTA condone racist behavior or encourage it by posting on social media.”

According to the Independent, Lassen, a librarian, responded by saying: “You are right, we should’ve reached out and inquired before making such accusations. I cannot fathom the hurt, anger and frustration you felt after you and others volunteered countless hours on your event. Again I truly apologize.”

But Rhoden, who is an instructor at Arizona State University, did not appear particularly apologetic and posted a side-by-side image of Hunter on Facebook to try to show that the DJ darkened his face even if he is black.

“Let me be clear, a black man, apparently in black face is an entirely different discussion than a White person,” he wrote on Facebook. “However… it seems at the very least he is in darker make-up if not ‘Black face’ or I am completely mistaken and it’s the lighting of the patio.”

Rhoden is a member of the district’s Equity and Inclusion Committee and Lassen is a co-chair of the Scottsdale Parent Council diversity, equity and inclusion committee.

According to Hunter’s Facebook Live, an organizer called someone he works with following the event and asked if he was black.

“They thought that the DJ there or the person there was in a black face, and the person that they thought was in black face was me,” Hunter said.

“Wait a minute, in their defense,” he said to his friend on the Facebook Live with him, “how many chips in the ice cream did you see?”

“They were probably thinking the same thing I am: Wow, there are no black people here,” he said, laughing.

Hunter then ridiculed the accusation that he was a black man doing blackface.

“Was I not Black enough? How black do I got to be for people to know that I’m an actual Black person,” he said.

Rhoden and the Scottsdale school district did not return requests for comment. Lassen could not be immediately reached.

These people put way too much stock on how much influence twitter has if they think she is responsible for the new bills. To them: Its not the tranny bathroom rapist, its not men entering female only spaces and sports (and girls being pressured to hide their discomfort with this), its not the questionable racist/sexualized curriculum, its not perverted/degenerate teachers, its not the sudden spike of lgbt students, and it is most certainly not the schools hiding all this and denying the parents right to know whats going with their children. Nope, the real reason is all these rep politicians are just really big fans of this real-estate woman's posts.

I'm pushing up against the boundaries of this thread because I enjoyed this too fucking much. While this nobody Blue Check journalist is a social justice warrior this is him arguing with three of the foremost experts on Section 230 on Twitter (along with some tech reporters) to try and claim that Section 230 (and being anonymous on the internet) is illegal or something (in another thread he says Biden should personally repeal it as if that's something the President can do) I'm not quite sure actually beyond he just hates it because of trolls or something, but it goes to some very fun places when people start questioning his assertion that he has a law degree:

His threats to sue anyone who uses an anonymous Twitter account to say he's a liar about having a law degree has led to entirely predictable consequences and he's currently arguing with almost all of them doing this while increasingly suggesting that the above thread and the people making fun of him are all some Big Tech anarchist plot to undermine the entire legal system of the United States the English speaking world since the Magna Carta.

Maybe I should just make a thread about Twitter Lawyers or maybe a Free Speech Opponents thread. I'll take it under advisement. Good idea, @AirdropShitposts. Well, thank you, @AirdropShitposts, you're one of my favorite posters on the Kiwi Farms.

Dear Genie,
I wish for this person to become Patrick S Tomlinson's attorney for his many lolsuits. The lolz harvest would be amazing.
Sincerely,
Flexo

Trump had to be banned from twitter because he had too much influence. But then they said twitter had no influence real world politics when twitter and big tech were accused of trying to swing the election. Now they act like it's the end of the world with Musk buying it up bc they no longer have "influence"

Everything about these sjw clowns is completely hypocritical and entirely self serving, then they literally cry when nobody takes them seriously. Oh I'm so sorry you might no longer be able to proudly declare yourself as part of the map community or zoophile community on twitter. What a terrible world

We need diverse texts, all these books have white, mostly male, authors!

I never understood the desire to replace the classics. In my middle and high school career, I have read a good chunk of these and a few of the more diverse books. I think that the problem is that these books have wider appeal and deal with broad topics, while more diverse books hyperfocus on issues which makes the classics better suited for mandatory reading. I'm sure my freshmen language arts teacher who grew up in south-central LA related a lot with A House on Mango Street, but as a suburban white kid, the book didn't really stick with me other than the rape scene. Meanwhile, I still think back on Of Mice and Men and The Catcher in the Rye because I related a lot to those books and I still feel the themes and values are still relevant to me today as an adult. That being said, I think one or two more diverse books isn't a bad thing because while I didn't relate to the book, House on Mango Street did demonstrate a lot of social problems that plague the Hispanic community that freshman me wasn't aware of.

But I do fear teachers just using whatever popular new YA novel they happen to like. Most YA novels now just have lazy generic themes of rebellion and weird fetishism romance that does nothing to expand a child's thinking.

I lol'd because it is such a terrible legal take by people who don't understand what defamation is.
There's hundreds and hundreds of replies trying to argue that it's actually a slam dunk case (even in the original context which was about a politician calling another politician a "groomer") and that more LGBTQIA+ need to stand up to their oppressors by filing frivolous lawsuits against them but I just grabbed the ones that were all "HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE A QUEER PERSON'S PUBLIC COMMENTS THIS IS HARASSMENT AND DOXXING!"

I would love to see some of the same people who cheered on the kick vic crowd be hit hard by the SLAPP laws they love to mischaracterize so much.

What kind of society allows sexual degeneracy around children and violent crime enabled by minorites, but retweeting key figures deserves to be doxxed and stalked?
