Nexpo/YT Horror Channels - Do they all suck

Coffeehouse crime is probably one of the best channels of this type. Factual and straight to the point.

I like him. He's not flashy or melodramatic or anything. Just a guy telling you a story, sticks to details, and is respectful to the victim and their family. The little memorials at the end with the victims' names and dates are a nice little detail that always gets to me. It's a reminder these videos aren't just about killers.

Got some ugly shirts though.

I watched Nexpo's video about the Salt Lake Quiet Pills and it was nice to discover he made his annoying pauses even more annoying by adding a Windows shutting down tune every single time. I struggled to stay awake through the hour-long sleep inducer because the comments said he hired PIs and had new info, and the last half hour is just some deep dive into a website that might be related to someone involved with the Quiet Pill game.

To summarize: he thinks it was all an elaborate plot, going back to at least 2001, so a pervy reddit mod wouldn't get in trouble for running r/jailbait.

What?

The only best way to enjoy a nexpo video is to put it on 1.5x or 2x speed, lol
Also why aren't more people talking about Hailey Elizabeth? The channel I mean. She makes longish videos discussing true crime stories but without nexpo's annoying pauses. Also she does that thing where she's putting makeup on in the background the whole time. But it's great background noise.
This is a video of hers that I liked, it got me to watch a whole movie about the same case so yeah
I know she's likely been discussed plenty already but she deserves more attention imo

Shame it's about two people I don't give a remote fuck about.
Yeah I finished it a bit after posting and my god was it a slog to get through. No shade to Matt but holy fuck I don't give a shit about two schizo celebrities' divorce.
ETA but I've been wondering for a while now, should we have a separate thread for true crime? On one hand it feels a bit weird to lump the ARG/horror side with JCS-esque channels, on the other if we do that I feel like it would inadvertently kill one or both threads, since it's already a niche topic.

Hiring private investigators for some deep internet ARG bullshit is pretty pathetic
If it's somebody's thing, I'd say it makes sense, especially if they are doing it for income. It would be an investment.

I don't even know if this belongs here, but the subject kind of fits, and NMMC does primarily make videos of the genre for the topic at hand. This is one of his better takes, in my opinion:

As someone who doesn't really care that much about true crime..... I wouldn't do that. My reasoning is that Horror channels go into (usually) long detailed discussions about a topic or event that is unsettling. That's true crime to a t. The only difference is well..... one actually happened which adds a whole other level of horror too it. And as you said it'll split up the thread and I don't think that's a great idea.

I don't think that the fiction horror stuff suffer for it, whenever a new video drops people will post a video about it and if it's interesting it gets discussed. I just wish there was someone as big as nexpo that I knew about who wasn't Nightmind. That kid (atleast when I watched him) seemed to just be trying to be Nick Nocturne lite.

Anyway.

I do appreciate NM's fanboying of Alan Resnick. His work is usually very interesting, and if it weren't for channels like Night Mind, I probably would never hear of most of it.
