Yes. I, from day one, said Trump would win vs Hillary and it wouldn't be that big of a deal. I was always agnostic about his win. I wasn't a big fan and I'm still not gay enough to get that pumped about a dude but..

At this point he, in so many ways, was unironically the best president of most of our lifetimes at least. Being so patriotically and egotistically unhinged is such a fucking vibe and really is what we need right now.

I think the 2020 steal was the best possible scenario and if/when Trump is back it's going to be very, very sick.

The 2020 steal might be one of the biggest phyrrhic victories in the history of American politics. I can't imagine anybody who has done more damage to the electability of the Democratic Party than Joe Biden. The Dems can't successfully blame the Republicans for all the hardships the country is going through because they have the White House and both chambers of Congress. Since Biden took office gases prices have skyrocketed, inflation is wiping out peoples' saving, illegal immigration is about to hit levels once thought inconceivable, and the administration has thrown their lot in with child groomers in a war against parents for who should have control over their kids. I doesn't help that Biden looks like he's going to put his other foot in the grave pretty soon. His replacement in Harris is just as inept and unlikable as Joe, but without the excuse of having her brain liquefying in real time. If Trump won in 2020, they could safely shriek about how he is Hitler 2.0 and is mere moments away from turning the United States in to a smoldering ash heap. Instead, Biden was installed and they revealed their true colors on various policies to a lot of people. The direct result of those polices is that the life of the average American is demonstrably worse now than it was under Trump, and people are going to hammer them for it come November.

The damage isn't to the actual hardened voters of the Democrats, the ones currently trying to pretend it doesn't exist. Its to the many, many groups that people refer to as "Vote Blue, No Matter Who" who have only voted that way because those they trusted and believed in those self-same hardened voters.

The Democrats have always had an oddly low floor of voters who are actual hardened always vote for them no matter what voters. What they -have- had is a whole hell of a lot of people who trust them and their mouth pieces over the Republicans because the Democrats won the prior culture war.

It was Republicans seen as the ones sending college age kids off to war. It was Republicans seen as the ones who wanted to kill the gays. It was Republicans seen as the ones who hated blacks and Hispanics. It was republicans seen as the ones who were anti-woman. Etc. Etc. These groups therefore had a heavy lean towards the Democrats or more specifically away from Republicans.

And what the Democrats have handed to the Republicans on a silver platter in a way they can't really fuck up is a ton of reasons to lean away... from the Democrats. Short-term what you will get from this is a lot of people deciding "fuck them both" and just not voting. Long-term.... a lot more newer voters who would have fallen in the Lean-Democrat camp who now consider the Republicans a viable option. The stranglehold on these voting blocs has been severely damaged.
