General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Myth are pretty much committed to Kiara's stated goal of a full debut before free use of the models (which Ina too voiced as well, but made mention to it only once). Calli was a special exception due to her big announcement and birthday. I imagine Gura, Ina and Kiara will break out their 3D for birthdays if they cannot get their 3D before the birthdays in May, June and July but other than that, they all waiting it out.

Going by the wiki, they only have some remnants from their first two gens and the latest gen still signed up. This is either their death knell as a company or the chance for the new guys to become the face of Tsunderia. Honestly, it's more likely they will limp on for a while before dying off, it's rare for companies to survive that long in entertainment with a good majority of the cast telling them to fuck off all at once!
Purin will likely stay with the company until it completely crashes and burns into ash, probably because she's one of the (last of the) founding members (Purin, Kana, and Char). Tsunderia has been there for her since some of her family died and she experienced Typhoon Rai which left her on Indefinite Hiatus for a while. Hanabi (from gen2) likely didn't go Indie with her genmate Orla because she's been out to get milk (hiatus) since March for whatever reason.

She definitely likes to experiment with new ideas, but usually it's just that. Kiara by comparison gets a single idea and sees it to its logical conclusion.
It's a natural thing that happens to people who have a ton of ideas. Why do the previous thing, when you can do the new thing? If you don't know how to make the sequel live up to the hype, why bother? It seems that to her, rehashing something is simply... well, too unoriginal, too mundane? At least, that's how I interpret it.

It's definitely to her detriment. I don't think ideas like AsaCoco, TakaMori or #COEXIST would have been memorable if they were a one-off thing. In the end, you can't flesh out a series in a single episode, it has to build on itself to reach full potential. As the audience, we forget three quarters of the back-and-forth, and only remember the greatest overarching themes.

It's not that we shouldn't discard ideas once we're done with them, or if they flop. But it would be nice if she gave it 3 or 4 episodes at least, before burying the assets never to be used again.
Phase Connect on a road on being the 4th largest Vtuber corpo.
Let's not forget VSPO, Neo-Porte or NoriPro. I'm pretty sure HAL and Tamaki can individually beat all of Phase-Connect for numbers.

Or else.

Recap of hawk English:
- Opened with "Hi honey" instead of her greeting (who did this)
- Will self-translate to Japanese during the stream
- Favorite English idioms: "no pain, no gain", "don't cry over spilled milk"
-- Initially misunderstood "I'm all ears" as something you use to threaten people gossiping about you :story:
-- Other new vocabulary: "rubbing two brain cells together", "galaxy brain"
-- "Japanese fans say, galaxy brain is so strong."
-- "Lui has galaxy brain, but sometimes two brain cell."
- Struggles with remembering vocabulary (supposedly). Chat offered to donate their brain cells.
-- "Okay. My mailing address is - "
- Q: Have you always wanted to learn English or did meeting EN senpais push you towards it?
-- Has always wanted to learn English and picked some up when she was in university, but definitely motivated by the ENs, especially Calli
-- Hopes to do more cross-branch projects
-- Has a telephone game collab with Gura, Calli, Moona, Pekora, Polka and Laplus planned, probably in May
- Tongue-twister and celebration will probably be clipped
- Senses progress in her English when she can understand some lines in foreign movies
- Asked chat for their favorite Japanese songs
-- "After my original song release, I will ask the same question again." (lol)
-- "When I translate English to Japanese - broken Japanese. Because I have two brain cell."
- Q: Advice on learning Japanese?
-- "Watch my stream. I use geas for you."

- Japanese class collab with Fauna next Saturday, 1:00 PM JST. Group collab with Kronii, Mumei and Polka (at least) planned in May. (Kronii is still Kronii-senpai but the other Council members are not lol.)
- Wants to go to New York and Los Angeles and the usual tourist spots in America
- Lots of superchats with idioms. Seemed to understand chat explanations except for "pot calling the kettle black" and "bless your heart".
- "I think 75 brain cell is not enough, so please send more brain, thank you."
- Favorite superhero is Dr. Strange. Can pronounce Cumberbatch.
- "When I listen to Unison by Senchou, my heart is - smooth? Calm."
- Superchat asked if her fans would be angry if she had a boyfriend. "I think no, but I don't have boyfriend."
- "'Lui is my wife'? What will you do for me if I become your wife?"
- "'YAGOO best girl.' I also think so."
- Has no advice for learning Japanese grammar, or at least none she can give in English (lol)
- Calls Botan and Korone senpai but not IRyS, which can only add to hope woman's confusion

A little story that came up earlier today involving Kson and a smaller indie VTuber that I'd thought be nice to share.
The Vtuber in question, Asakura Konoha, was forced to go on hiatus since last month due to the earthquake at the time trashing her streaming equipment + damages to her home being too costly for her to do anything about it. While she did receive help from other people to get her streaming activities back on track, Kson somehow heard of her problems and gave her a spare PC and the equipment needed to stream again, leading up to this return.

watching tsunderia explode like this and the recent cyberlive nonsense has been crazy. like what are these companies doing wrong, it shouldn't be hard to just keep your talent. i know another very small company shut down, stellux iirc, but they were honest about having money issues and just let the talent go without drama. this is so funny to watch other companies fight so hard to avoid the inevitable.

Lui love indeed

And what were the reasons people are saying Twitch is better than Youtube again?
Better chat interaction with bits and donations and whatnot. You can also do raids/bets and other stupid crap that lets you interact with the viewers in some sort of shape or form. Even viewers that are not paying for subs can still participate by spending channel points that they get from watching the streams.

VShojo has everything to go up like the Hinderburg, and, at the same time, everything not to. Their professionalism is minuscule, their bad rep colossal and pretty much nobody expects anything but the lowest of low brow from them. At the same time, they do have a niche, and unless they are that fucking retarded in managing their main cast they will probably retain it. But precisely, if anything serious enough to drive away their top earners happens, they're fucked with no chance of recovery. Fuck, there's a good chance the fucking Fishman is going to take their audience if things stay bonkers enough. Might have a nice, fancy desk to hide under from Pippa pretty soon!
A good number of those talents that got let go seemed to be underperforming. Shit, one of them has 3k subs after 9 months. Those are pretty abysmal numbers. Guessing the company just wants to cut ties with them. Instead of killing the character just give it to the talent and let them do whatever they want. They can trim excess fat and at the same time still not ending up on everyone's blacklist for screwing the talents over.

Maybe im unaware, but what is holding the rest of Myth from showing her 3D models like Calli and holoID did, and i dont mean full mocap streams, just the regular facecam ones but with the use of 3D models

I'll note that Gura technically used her 3D for the Project Wingman stream, but since she did the Miko driver/pilot seat thing it wasn't particularly active. She switched back to L2D as the stream was ending. Cute use of it for the whole VR/Simulator bit.
Beyond that yeah I'm assuming they all specifically just have their own reason they want to hold off, whether it's still for the mentioned big group collaboration I couldn't say. Easily believable to me though. I genuinely do believe Myth is rather close even if their collabs (or "lack thereof") are scattered or scuffed. Time zones can affect that pretty easily with 3 different ones in play until Calli sorts out whatever moving she's doing, once again leaving Kiara odd man out. Even that would still be easier with just 2 time zones.

I can't add anything to the Tsunderia stuff, but at this rate Phase Connect might have a Gen3 before Gen2 debuts lmao.
I kind of see the worry about how the potential of this company gaining speed and getting more talents and attention might spill over into restricting a bit of what some current talents do a bit more. Obviously Pippa is the first to mind alongside things like the Rikieta collab, but I'd argue Lia would also possibly get hassled a little over it. The content they deal with is different, but Lia really says some wild shit sometimes. Having a stream about what a horny brain damaged trash fire tumblr was for teenage girls obsessing over hot "not human men" isn't exactly the furthest from some lolcow type origins.
Tenma's arguably spicy based on who she's hanging around too sometimes but has the advantage of befriending some of the soft internet on twitch already. Yuri might fit right in with this line of thought too because she's as bad as AND helps enable Pippa during stuff like Overwatch. Which was golden btw, but just sayin it might be something a worried manager/ceo whines about.

It's also possible I'm retarded and should have stopped typing. I thought I had like 4 sentences to type then word vomit.
Other than that, my only other comment is: Never change Ame. Like 5 different "last songs" followed by 40 or so seconds of 3D legs dancing before ending mid song.

I know it's late but I finally found an archive of Ina's first Twitter Space aka Ina Tech Talk. She changed parts or build a complete new PC by now and should be back today according to her recent tweets.
It seems that the big mp3 upload to the farms cannot be played so here is a upload on catbox for those who are interested.
