Fat Jack is angy he can't just figure out whether or not the sports bar will be filled with cheap slop. I went back through Jack's "Smoking/Grilling/BBQing" playlist which as of today has 125 videos. What I found is that other than this most recent video, Jack has never used yellow mustard as a binder for dry rub. To season his meat, Jack usually puts dry seasoning directly on the meat with no binder; sometimes he uses a wet sauce as a marinade with no extra seasoning. I would estimate this breakdown at 90% vs 10% respectively. I think I saw one video where he used BBQ sauce as a binder for dry rub.

Actually he hardly uses yellow mustard in his smoking videos at all. He does use it as a sauce ingredient in the following videos:

• [3-2-1 RIBS - TRAGER SMOKING] Jack makes sauce with yellow mustard for the base, which he also uses as binder for his shitty dry rub.
• [Tennessee Fire BBQ Chicken] Jack includes yellow mustard in the marinade/sauce and doesn't add any dry rub on top.
• [Georgia Gold Chicken] Besides yellow mustard, he uses an unholy amount of molasses in the sauce.

So Mr. "I Like To Use Yellow Mustard On My Ribs" is a liar, but I think we all knew that already.

I have a theory on the mustard thing. A few bbq videos ago Jack was using Malcom Reed's The BBQ Rub on something. Now AFAIK Malcom doesn't sell his rubs through Sam's Club, so unless Jack happened upon them at a butcher shop or something he likely got them from Malcom's website. Malcom has a youtube channel (that is quite good) and he does indeed use mustard in a lot of videos as a binder for seasoning. My guess is that Jack saw some of his videos and wanted to act like he too was a smart bbq boy and claim to do the same.
