including Hillary, who thought amplifying him would guarantee her victory.

Controlled opposition isn’t just willfully compliant “dissenters” who will listen to commands, and probably the majority of controlled opposition are useful idiots that serve to demoralize the opposition while bolstering their own support. See every rino nevertrumper
Ding ding ding.

I think a lot of people think of controlled opposition as a narrower term than it is. They hear it and think "uniparty", or more longform they think "One side actively working with the other". And while this is a form of controlled opposition it is not the only form. Generally you have two other forms. The useful idiot as you mention here who likes to espouse nice things but who have no hope in hell of actually winning and then you have the class that LePen falls under and the largest group.

LePen has no business being the front runner of French politics if you look at it on the face. She has run four times now and lost all of them receiving only a small amount of support. She has an absolute shit-ton of baggage both personally and historically. And her policies always lack any form of details and are vague messes. How has no other party or candidate come out and ousted her? And well, we have evidence it'd be possible. Zemmour came out late in the race and managed to snag fourth place in the first round of voting despite massive handicaps.

LePen should not be the one against Macron, yet consistently is. The answer why lies in that third type. "Propped up politics", LePen is the case example of it. You take someone theoretically viable if they had resources, prop them up politically with money on the side to get people behind them, then drop that support come the key election (General in the U.S., second round in France) so suddenly everything which kept them afloat is gone.

Its what Clinton tried to do with Trump only for it to backfire.

It's wishful thinking on my part, but just sayin': they do like their guillotines over there, in case things get intolerable enough for their quality of life.

France is currently on their 5th republic, the United States; even accounting for shit like the Civil War and the retard shitting his pants in the White House right now; is still on the original republic that was birthed with the ratification of the Constitution. The last man in France that was worth a damn was Lafayette.

1) Shipping containers are 40 feet long,
2) Semi Trailers are 50 feet long. (this is an extra 100sq feet of space
53'(59' in Texas) and dry vans are wider and taller on the inside. 2400 ft³ vs 3800 ft³. However, dry vans almost always run out of payload before they run out space. 40' containers have a max gross of 29 tons and 24-26 in a dry van is average for 5 axles.
1) get the transloading facilities to do a 3rd shift.
2) have truckers pull double trailers at night to feed the transloading facilities
3) have the EPA and Carb do a 3 month emergency suspension emissions standard for said trucks hauling the containers
4) have the media explain the cascade of issues causing this problem.
California would never let 2-3 happen and 1 was never going to happen during a workforce shortage. While California allows 53' trailers they are the only state requires a max of 40' from kingpin to last axle. They'd lose their minds over turnpike doubles. There is a also a federal moratorium on states changing truck size and weight laws put in during the Carter admin... to save fuel somehow. If they could and they were smart, the entire west coast would adopt the Australian b-double. 10' more of trailer and one articulation joint and it can haul an extra TEU.

My favorite example of controlled opposition is Ann Coulter. Between wasting the base's time and energy and herding the cats into Uniparty approved GOPe stances, she's caused more damage to the right than most.
I only wish that Trump gave her that damn position like the other "winners" just to shut her up, because Christ. She's worse than Never Trumpers et al.

I love how schizo Palmer is implying that we all should elect unlikeable fucks because "that's democracy baby!".

Definitely showcasing the benefits of the vote here.
he would be chanting “let’s bring democracy” up to the point of invading countries iraq style. He is just a tool for the establishment and the bidens. He is the biggest useful idiot to them besides the media.

So much simping
Gonna take a guess and say "lead pipes" actually means they're going to start citing wrongthinking businesses for "water quality issues" and insisting on replacing your pipes, but you pay for it.

That or they're going to destroy water treatment facilities next and blame the resulting issues on lead pipes, which were always there, you conspiracy-theorists!

insisting on replacing your pipes, but you pay for it.
Conspiracy theory time: You can't sell your house unless it's up to the current codes, then they add a lot of onerous conditions to make it difficult and expensive to upgrade. Then you'll be forced to sell your house for a lower price to special companies that pledge to upgrade and then rent them out, or turn them over to the government, thus reducing the amount of housing in private hands.

I dunno, but I get the same damned feeling. Everything Joepedo is doing would have been... still bad, but we'd be USED to it if we had just dealt with 4-8 years of Clinton2: revenge of the pantsuit. But with that large chunk of the plan not only missing but actively involving a populist right winger UNDOING huge chunks of their plan... All while they burned every bridge and asset to unseat him in some terrified dash to get us back "on track"...

Well, remember that Clinton literally was pushing him behind the scenes as a pied piper candidate. So thinking he was meant to "lose with dignity" (well, actually "lose while making a fool of the party") like a controlled opposition candidate isn't completely from left field.
The pied piper idea makes sense when you realize Trump used to be tied to the Democrats while they were still pretending to be sane. Problem was? They tried to humiliate Trump at that presidential dinner and Trump is vindictive to the point that he has a chapter in some of his books dedicated solely to revenge.

Macron won re-election, and look who's bragging.

2022 means nothing. They'll just steal 2024, even if it kills them.
Pretty sure NPR already DEBOONKED this today. Supposedly the French have a tradition of "walling off" right wing politicians. Known in the states as "Vote Blue No Matter Who." They will take the blow to their coalition as long as no nasty right wingers get in.

Jill Biden was against picking Kamala Harris as husband’s running mate, new book reveals

"The Broadsides to the administration will continue until morale improves."

They already do this in a fashion. Basically anywhere that they put a "Nature Refuge" down you get a bunch of regulations that could compete with the EPA for unreasonable (forcing home values down) while NGO's and environmental groups suddenly start sending straw buyers to buy up property which is then donated to the government.

The fix was in for 2016 too, don't kid yourself. They just didn't count on him getting that many votes. The first time they regarded him as a joke. The second time they also regarded him as a joke but they had a viable backup plan to steal the votes at 3am.
I have never seen votes being 'counted' for a week in my lifetime.
Plenty people thought that Trump was controlled opposition...
Thought? He is.

So Obama really was responsible for Trump.

God, the bullshit cope is palpable.

France has a completely different electoral system than the U.S. and a very different geographic breakdown. Comparing the entire US to France elections is completely disengenuous because the electoral college exists. You can probably compare France to New York state, with one huge city, smaller cities and hollowed out rural population, aka a sucker for left wing candidates to win with little resistance. Each state is very different to that, which matters because the electoral college exists.

And that's without going into the candidates. Le Pen never got within 10 points of winning the popular vote, even with this extremely more favorable environment to her than her other 3 runs. On the other side, Trump won "once" by a slim margin the first time, "lost" by 40000 votes across 3 states in one of the worst political incumbant environments in American history, with megacorporation billionaires, the entire media, and at least 50% of his own party against him, and still had the national popular vote within 5. And that was with Biden having a overall positive approval due to constant hiding and corporate media fellatio.

Now, Biden is less popular than Trump at the during their respective presidencies timeframes WITH these advantages and Trump's approval has hit an all time high today with constant media hitpeices to this day. Trump is now the most popular national politician in the country.

It isn't anywhere near the same.

Polonium's law: just because it's a crazy conspiracy theory, doesn't mean it's not true
