Your average IQ person would realize that bringing attention to something you're embarrassed about is going to bring more attention to it. It also doesn't help that Ethan cannot lie to save his life. Everything from his inflection to being fake calm just reeks (in this case literally) of dishonesty.

I've told this to people before, and Ralph might have been one of them. My thoughts on Corey Barnhill (pedophile) is that absolute best thing anyone can do is just pretend he does not exist. Corey tells lies basically as fast as he talks and to discuss anything with him is a bad idea. Here's a general outline of how he works.

"You raped and murdered a girl behind an Arby's in 1990."
"That's ridiculous, I've never killed anyone."
"But you've raped people."
"No, I've never raped anyone."
"So why were you at that Arby's in 1990?"
"What? That never happened."
"You say you've never been to an Arby's? I can prove right now you've been to Arby's."
"I might have gone to an Arby's but I didn't murder anyone."

The gist being that if you can even get someone to engage a ridiculous bullshit accusation, that alone adds veracity to the story. If they start denying stuff you can make 'gotchas' in a story that you literally made up.

And during this, he can lie about other shit. Then you're trying to debunk a second total lie which creates even more fraying edges to play with. Every deboonk requires 100x more effort and time than the initial lie took to create so you're always losing ground.

This is how Corey works without fail. He does speed, does digging, fabricates a story, does an 8 hour stream of him with meth mouth, tries to get the story to gain enough traction that the person targeted feels the need to address the accusations. If he manages to do that then he'll inevitable cause whatever platform he's found to implode. That's why it's an unwritten rule everyone ignores him.


Ralph might be trying to emulate this to a degree but he's not as smart so it's just him flinging really vile shit about everyone.

Notice when Ralph/Nick just blatantly lied about something they did or did not say, Jim promises he can go find evidence to the contrary. To do that is time consuming and to tell the lie is not. And even if it's proven they're just lying, they're not going to apologize, so it's fruitless.

This is what you can expect from people whose audiences don't hold them accountable at all.

I think the single most annoying thing Ralph does is his use of "allegedly". When Jim got doxxed he said "Jim got doxxed allegedly" in an effort to downplay it and for months afterwards adamantly said the dox was fake.

When Mundane Matt imploded and people were making up a lot of wild shit about him, Ralph would gladly bring those things up and add "allegedly" so he can say that shit, frame Matt as a pedo or serial killer, but give himself a cover of "I'm just a journalist reporting" deniability.
