I have to say that it is funny that companies like Disney and WoTC are trying to get back OG fans after spending the past 5 years belittling, demeaning and slandering them by calling them racist, sexists, homophobic and transphobic bigots and how they don't want them as an audience anymore. Now here they are, crawling back to us. I am going to be a bit White Pilled here but I think we are seeing a change for the positive. Pandering to childless, Woke, hipster, gender blob Millennials isn't working out for companies anymore. Especially in this economy. They need the financial stability that only the OG fans can give them. These companies will never admit that Woke shit doesn't sell but expect them to silently walk back on the Woke politics and dial back the Woke shit in their products. Ever since the cluster fuck that was the 2007 WGA strike, big media has learned that if you insert queers, your story can be shit and it'll still make 80% of the money of something that was good but you had to put in 50% of the effort, so its a win. Anyone who is competent is either grown down by design-by-committee - because they have no creative control outside of who's gay, or goes into business by themselves to languish in obscurity. There is also no one to learn from, no one gets any experience, and all the writers conferences are about pronouns and orangeman bad.
The old settings are sold in PDF for cheap. Some are even PoD. I've been running classic settings with 5e rules for years.
