You’d think that after a decade of this bullshit that the public would have wised up and realized that absolutely fucking nobody on Twitter or any other social media site gives a shit about anyone but themselves. Not black people, not gays, not whatever Tumblrgender is trendy this week, and certainly not the poor. Everyone is only in it for the social capital. It’s all about parroting the correct opinions so you can get more attention, social status, money, or sex, and then turn around and excuse what a horrible person you are. (See the Activist's Fallacy).

People agree with the hivemind to get the social reward from agreeing--or to avoid the social punishment from disagreeing/not agreeing hard enough or in the right way. The only reason people go any further than just wringing their virtual hands is to grift. BLM. The Lincoln Project. Antiracism. AOC. All of them are grifters, cloaked in virtuous politics.
