2. Elon Musk owning Twitter most likely means he will make the site friendlier for the right and less of a progressive hugbox. Trump and Tucker Carlson having their accounts reinstated, for example. This pisses them off for obvious reasons.
This idea that Musk is going to make the site friendlier to the right is largely conjecture. Based on his comments, Musk seems to envision Twitter as being the Public Square, and that it is ruined by bots and unauthentic accounts. Your Twitter account should be an extension of your real life personality, and of course the top influencers (like him) should have the most visibility to engage in the public square.

These principles are generally anathema to right wing discourse and most right wing spaces, which 1) generally regard all opinions as equally valid regardless of who is saying them (compared to the left where proper opinions are distributed by authoritative sources for mass consumption, which lower echelons on the hierarchy mainly responsible for repeating easily digestible sound bites)

And 2) the right wing currently faces real life consequences for their political opinions, the near totality (maybe 95+%) practice heavy or complete self censorship in their real life online personalities. Twitter for the right is a place to be anonymous or pseudo anonymous. Even having a verified account is a means to unmask a persons posting history in civil or criminal court, or unscrupulous moderators.

This, in and of itself makes it hostile to right wing discourse in the current milieu

Makes me wonder how things will go for the US midterms now that a consul of progressives don't control Twitter. 2022 is good timing to gauge on how well Elon will actually support free speech and how lefties politicians will react. Presumably, propaganda news stories should be deboonked pretty easily now that you won't get shadow-banned\hard-banned for not accepting the lie are showing the other side of things.
I wish this shit was happening right before a presidential election, personally. I've seen politics swing left to right and back again within two years' time.

Funnily enough not even tumblr users want the twitter users back.

Now it seems the left wing will learn what it means to be an exile.

Seriously, what are you people so excited about? You're acting like he's going to start sending in goons to every wokescold and troon poster's house and beat them with rubber hoses before booting them off the platform right before he stops by your house to deliver cake and morphine.
Because Elon Musk is sending the left into meltdown. But it honestly looks like you’re familiar with the right wing making a major move cycle and I think you’re a bit ahead.

Dumbest bitch in American politics tbh. Democracy is when Democrats control all speech on Twitter. They play by the rules you spent your career shaping and the laws written by lobbyists you endorsed without reading. You are literally a fucking politician. They party you represent is Goldman Sach's bitch, good luck with the wealth tax. Accountable = Democrats run all companies in a one party CCP-style scheme. She took campaign contributions from Google for fuck sake. Boomerdems jesus fucking christ, it's a miracle they can breathe on their own without machines.

What I find hilarious is that Aimee Challenor, a known pedophile troon from the UK, was supporting Warren's campaign a few years back.

Which reminds me of this article from American Thinker who takes a more optimistic cautious approach.

Are we being blindly optimistic about Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover?

By Rajan Laad

The news about the board of Twitter agreeing to a $44bn takeover offer from the billionaire Elon Musk caused both celebrations and meltdowns all over the world.
Musk tweeted the following:

The situation currently on Twitter is such that merely questioning the groupthink can get a user suspended. At times information is suppressed without the user's knowledge i.e., the Tweet is allowed but its visibility is restricted. Twitter also allows and promotes trends that are beneficial to the progressive agenda.

For conservatives, the hope is that Musk will liberate the platform from its overwhelming leftward bias and restore free speech. Many conservatives are hoping that their suspended accounts will be restored.

The left’s meltdown began the very day Musk made his bid public. Twitter employees staged walkouts in protest. MSNBC warned their few viewers that Musk’s takeover of Twitter will have 'massive, life and globe-altering consequences'. SNL took the low road; under the guise of satire they claimed that Musk’s bid was because “White guys want to use the N-word".

Now that the bid has been accepted, the New York Times in a cliché-ridden article that reads like a parody piece is claiming that “Musk’s reasons for taking control of Twitter aren’t about free speech; it’s about controlling a megaphone. With his legion of fans, Musk will command a gigantic megaphone and be free to plug his own investments, pooh-pooh sound health regulations and shout down critics.” The article also claims that “Female Twitter users, in particular, ought to worry about whether Musk will bring his apparent disdain for women to the company he is about to own. Twitter is already a toxic place for women who use it, particularly those of color.”

I wonder how he's feeling right now

Olbermann has been so completely checked-out from reality since the late Bush Administration. The only reason he doesn't have his own lolcow thread at this point is he's still minimally a celebrity.

I mean it's a really bad joke, but I don't think you can make it and even know what the point of a poison pill is, because if you do, it's just not funny.

The hate circle surrounding Musk is pretty nuts, especially when you know people that used to worship him as the savior of humanity and now hate his guts for perceived social crimes
These are a people who have a dedicated Joe Rogan forum where every episode has a thread with hundreds, sometimes thousands of posts just shitting on Joe Rogan.

Spin doctors unronically going back on the 'its a private company' line they've been shilling for the past six years. I hope every one of these disigeneous serpents is drowned out in a sea of nigger kikes.
It was always a one way street. If they had any scruples they would’ve gone to bat for Masterpiece Cakeshop, which of course they didn’t and cried about it instead.

Yeah, I’m thinking we’re back.
Deals don't close when they're announced, just like you generally don't drive a new car off the lot when you buy it, or take a dog home the day you adopt it. It'll be months before any control is actually granted. Apparently, Twitter trannies don't understand that either, which is why they're putting in fake repos to "troll Elon"... retard, Elon won't see any of that until like Dec of this year.

So, for all your niggerfaggot-saying needs, you should stick with the farms for the time.

So you're saying maybe a good tentative date to give control of twitter over to Musk would be, say, November 9th or so?

Reddit is going to (somehow) get worse than it already is. With their initial offering coming up they're going to try as hard as possible to cater to the libs fleeing twitter.
Reddit already allows following users feeds and posting to your own profile. They would just need to revamp the UI a bit and maybe have a toggle from showing subforums to showing the users you follow. Already there are massive number of people posting their profile photo as their user icon, something that would have been unheard of just a couple years ago.

Leftists would love Reddit to take over the Twitter space because the distributed nature of the conversations allows the troon theydoitforfree brigade to essentially control all moderation, without really having to answer to higher for authority. The higher up admins can also just wash their hands with it. The result is a highly curated conversation at the top of the comment feed while lower level, and recent comments are just random users pissing in the wind, without the C suite having to acknowledge some controversial algorithm.

It used to be the moderation on smaller subs was somewhat tolerable, even leaning more towards the right and independent. But with the proliferation of automod and shadowbanning, shared banned lists, smaller subs have even stricter moderation now. To the point that even milquetoast comments regarding congressional budget legislation gets automodded. I feel bad for the average users on there that isn’t part of the hive mind yet, not realizing how curated the conversation is and just how often their own comments are being auto shadow deleted.

Sorry, what happened on November 9th? Are you thinking the 5th and the Gunpowder Plot? The 8th and the 2016 election/2022 midterms?

Since there’s no issues with the FTC, I assume that the deal will close within weeks. The only real issue is settling with stockholders.

Pretty much summed up why it has one or two small positives and why it just overall sucks without writing a novel. What more do you need to know about why this is bad? Dude is just a slicker Jeff Bezos who, by the way, just beat him to the punch because Bezos would have a lot to gain from buying Twitter; controlling who can bad mouth his company, keeping tabs on any disgruntled outspoken employees, union talks, etc. The list goes on and on. Elon will just do the same except with HIS companies and HIS employees.
If Bezos let me call you a nigger on amazon I'd love him.

2022 midterms. Biggest sin of twitter is fucking around with info related to elections, so I would have a lot of concern if twitter dragged out handing over control past the midterms. Not a big conspiracy guy, but this would ring an alarm for me.
