Good lord that guy is a moron. That's hardly even the place to bring it up, as one reply mentions this has long been (half jokingly) bandied about on the NANOG list at various times for various reasons.Actually? Yeah, we should be worried... since Brad Chapman of NBC Universal can be seen over here on the Outages-discussion mailing list asking network admins the legal/technical barriers to de-peering a certain Autonomous System, AS13414 (read: Twitter), from the rest of the Internet.
I'm sure @Null would be happy to explain to him how trying to de-peer Elon Musk from the Internet is not quite the same as de-peering KiwiFarms... Elon has money and lawyers.
Of course an AS could 'be isolated'. You just drop peering with them. If someone else doesn't want to talk with them, just blackhole their routes. Left out of that discussion is 'be fucking careful if you do that, you don't want one or both political parties classing you as a common carrier even harder than the Obama FCC did'.
