One rumor suggests the Moldavian government is mulling ceding "autonomous" Transnistria to Ukraine so that they can de-facto invade without actually "invading" [nevermind that they're allegdely bombing the region already].

transnistria does have a significant ukrainian population, but even larger russian and romanian populations. i doubt ukraine would be interested in annexing it.
however, i could see them being interested in destroying the russian military presence there due to the threat it poses to ukraines southwestern flank. this would then allow for moldova to establish control over the territory again and end that frozen conflict for good, maybe that's the plan here.

If you are going to contend the party was nothing but Russian agents, you have to contend with the fact that the regions currently in dispute were willfully electing and sending officials from this party to the Ukrainian parliament. Sounds like these regions should almost be there own country or something, separate from Ukraine, if their political differences are that pronounced.

Will give some opinions here - believe this war will last much longer than anyone expected. It has turned into a grind. Ukraine will get what they need to keep fighting, keep the country running at some level. The Allies can afford it. Believe we'll be lucky if this war is over this time next year. Looking back at history, it's turning into 1914 all over again. The Germans went for a quick strike at Paris and fell just short. After that, the lines pretty much stabilized in trench warfare for the next four years.

The Russians went for a quick strike at Kyiv and fell just short. They have had to pull out and reposition in the south/southeast, apparently to take and consolidate certain territory. Understand the Russians have launched an offensive in that area but not sure how much progress, if any, has been made. The Ukrainians keep pushing back. Now the fight is coming to Russia, with all the fires. And now action in Transnistria. Things will just go on and on until something happens, what that could be have no idea. Regime change in Moscow? Major Russian defeat in the south/southeast? Divine intervention? Your guess is as good as mine.

But we would all do well to expect the unexpected. As you can, if you can, when you can, donate to help the Ukrainian refugee children. As always, people my age start the wars, the younger people fight them, and the oldest and youngest suffer the most.
