𝕏 / Twitter / X, the Social Media Platform Formerly Known as Twitter / "MUSK OWNS TWITTER"

There's no mathematical formula that will tell you if a company's stock will rise or fall or by how much.
Sure, but there are reasonable projections and that would give some credence to the decision. As it is, it sounds like board members are put in a terrible, potentially life-ruining situation even if they act entirely in good faith and have no real defense besides "bro, trust me, I thought it was a good deal".

Seeing leftists so eager to censor people while pretending it's about stopping "violent hateful speech" is sickening to me. These people know exactly what they are doing. Twitter lefties want a platform where they don't have to interact with or see opinions they dislike. Simple as. Look at the past 5 years of mass banning of right-wing people and the block lists these fucks have. This isn't about violence or "hate speech" it's about being a complete fucking coward who can't stomach being disagree with. They are afraid of Elon owning twitter because people on the right will have voices again and that breaks their echo chamber.

Like all of his fellow-travelers, he found it impossible to do the needful and touch grass.

His fingertips brushed the dew-speckled blades, and, like a rabid animal afflicted with hydrophobia, he recoiled with a screech before fleeing to his concrete warren, his shaky hands summoning his Twitter app on his iCrap so he could go back on his commitment to petty activism and fill the bird-shaped hole in his plasticine woke-consoomer cultist heart.

Never change, Talcum X.
And just like that you painted a mental image that in one shot filled 100% of my recommended daily allowance of amused chuckling. :achievement:

Never change, Drain Todger.

reminds me of what I said earlier:
I think the woke feel threatened by free speech because wokeism is built on BS.

Truth doesn't need censorship to be around - but cult BS thrives on censorship.

With Twitter being the main online hangout of the woke, is Musk buying Twitter already the new Current Thing of Current Year?

"Ukraine invasion? What's that?" - the woke, maybe sooner or later
I am irrationally optimistic. I bit the bullet and signed up for twitter again. It's like 2012 has come again. The jannies are crying in the corner and mods are too busy looking for new jobs. Musk isn't even in charge yet and it's like I am in KiwiFarms A&N...only its Twitter.

Musk doesn't really wanna go through with it / he's trying to sabotage the deal by disparaging the company and its employees (lolno he hasn't) in contravention of the agreement / he doesn't have the money to pull it off is the latest cope
It's also revealing of how many on the left just don't seem to understand financial instruments and how the wealthy buy things. (I mean, we already knew that they know nothing about money and self-reliance, but it's always good when they give us evidence too.)

These people know exactly what they are doing.
I kinda doubt that man. The shit they say to each other even entirely inside their safe spaces couldn't have passed through a filter of critical thought or even, like, thought. They're automatons.

Seeing a lot of seethe about 1. muh twitter censors commies even harder and 2. promotes right wing content with its algos more than left wing content

As to

1. :story:
2. You dummies this shows that conservatives are an untapped market who want to see political content. Twitter doesn't give it to them but its brain wants to. If demand were roughly equal then the algorithm produce roughly equal results

Elon knows this, he has a functioning theoretical and practical brain, he is openly courting white Western conservatives with his shitposting and principleposting. He has a demographic of considerable dimensions that Twitter has utterly failed to capitalize

There are so many ways he could try to make Twitter profitable, ways that Dorsey and Agrawal didn't see or didn't want to do. The commie class is so mad because he treated Twitter like a business and will very most likely continue to do so, which destroys it as their public hugbox

Surprising absolutely nobody, Bill Palmer is a fucking moron who did not read the agreement.

Here's the relevant section:
Section 6.8 Public Announcements. Except as otherwise contemplated by Section 6.5, so long as this Agreement is in effect, the Company, Parent and Acquisition Sub shall consult with each other before issuing any press release or otherwise making any public statements with respect to this Agreement or the transactions contemplated by this Agreement, and none of the parties hereto or their Affiliates shall issue any such press release or make any public statement prior to obtaining the other parties’ consent (which consent shall not be unreasonably withheld or delayed), except that no such consent shall be necessary to the extent disclosure may be required by Law, Order or applicable stock exchange rule or any listing agreement to which any party hereto is subject, in which case the party required to make such disclosure shall use its reasonable best efforts to allow, to the extent legally permitted, each other party reasonable time to comment on such disclosure in advance of its issuance, or is consistent with prior communications previously consented to by the other parties. In addition, the Company may, without Parent or Acquisition Sub’s consent, communicate to its employees, customers, suppliers and consultants; provided that such communication is consistent with prior communications of the Company or any communications plan previously agreed to by Parent and the Company, in which case such communications may be made consistent with such plan. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the restrictions set forth in this Section 6.8 shall not apply in connection with any Adverse Board Recommendation Change or dispute between the parties regarding this Agreement or the transactions contemplated hereby. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the Equity Investor shall be permitted to issue Tweets about the Merger or the transactions contemplated hereby so long as such Tweets do not disparage the Company or any of its Representatives.

tl;dr: Twitter and the nominal psuedocompany that will merge with Twitter to become a private company cannot make any public statements about the acquisition without consulting with each other and obtaining consent. Twitter may communicate with its employees, customers, suppliers and consultants about the acquisition without obtaining consent, just as long as they're being consistent with previous representations. Elon can make any public statement or announcement about the acquisition as long as he doesn't shit talk Twitter or its representatives while doing so.

Under the terms of this agreement, he can shit talk Twitter's policies and it's higher ups as much as he wants as long as it is not a tweet about the acquisition.
