Shiv Sena has a very interesting history and somewhat close connections to old style Indian mafias/gangsters. A popular money making venture is to shakedown construction sites for protection money.Jokes aside, people would be surprised by how xenophobic your average Indian is. There are whole gangs dedicated to attacking immigrants particularly from Bangladesh and Pakistan. This even expands to state vs state, i remember reading that in the state of Maratha there was constant attacks against workers from other Indian states working there. There was also this as an example of anti-american sentiment:
Shiv Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray has called it an attack of the west on Indian culture and that it is attracting youth for commercial gain. Shiv Sena leader Bal Thackeray has said that people not wanting violence on the day should not celebrate it. He has also called the festival shameless and contrary to Indian culture. In Maharashtra, the Shiv Sena often threatens commercial establishments to stop selling goods that celebrate Valentine's Day. The Mumbai city unit chief Nana Wadekar of Shiv Sena has stated that Valentine's Day encourages obscene and vulgar acts.
Sri Ram Sena leader Pramod Muthalik has said that if his activists catch couples in public on Valentine's Day, they would be forcibly married. If the couples resist, then the girl with will be forced to tied rakhi to the boy, a ritual which would make them siblings.
Activists have been known to raid card shops and burn Valentine's Day cards and flowers. Members of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have also been known to throw rotten tomatoes at couples. There also have been reports of people attacking restaurants. Bajrang Dal has been known to put up billboards warning couples to not hold hands. Shiv Sena has warned that people expressing love in public will be photographed and the photographs will be sent to their families. Couples roaming in public parks are sometimes caught by vigilantes and their hair is cut off and their faces are painted black to humiliate them. Some groups conduct marriages of different animals like goat and dog, or dog and horse, to symbolise that the love displayed on this day is fake.
Its less that they've given up, and more that they're irrevocably committed to this position. Any attempt to backtrack at this point would do even more damage, so going harder couldn't possibly make it any worse. If the silent majority believes that grooming is an appropriate descriptor for what's going on, its too late for them - they can't shift to the popular position on this without alienating their self-selected core base. So double down or die are the options. So they've practically given up?
Considering what Joe Biden just said about the kids belonging to teachers and releasing crackheads from prison i imagine this is a result of them trying to secure the votes on their side rather than trying to convince anyone from the neutral or right side and hoping the red wave fearmongering motivates the democrats enough to go out and vote
Bittersweet? Mixed feelings? On one hand I find that terribly relieving, and on the other I find it massively disappointing. Don’t know if there’s even a word for this feeling.
I've been looking at a map of that region for years now and somehow never put 2+2 together that Yellowstone blowing up was responsible for the Snake River valley, that's so cool.Yellowstone has produced at least a dozen supereruptions(VEI ofover the last 17 million years. However, the last 3 were really big, one might even say huuge.

They're already shifting away from all the "free gibs", "Defund the pigs", "pro-woke" shit in the primaries in my state. They're running on a DNC version of a Bill Maher/never trumper hybrid: "We aren't about being politically correct. We're just common sense democrats! Hate how things are right now? Us too; let's work together to fix this!"Source: https://morningconsult.com/2022/04/26/biden-approval-rating-underwater/
If I were a Dem strategist I'd be shitting a brick right now. If you give Biden a +5 boost across the board and use that for electoral vote predictions, then CO, CT, MN, NJ, NM, OR, VA all become battleground states. The 2020 D flips are out of reach even with the same level of "fortification". That's a very naive prediction, of course, since it doesn't take into account who the R nominee will be (if it's Trump, this will be much harder to predict), and 2.5 years is a long time in electoral politics. But this is an extremely bad starting position that forces the Democrats to expend resources on states that were previously considered safe.
Nah fuck that, nuke em off the face of the Earth, Vlad.Jesus california and new york need to get nuked...IN MINECRAFT FBI AGENT, I MEANT IN MINECRAFT
Doubtful. It'd be like saying Rachel Maddow would have wreak havoc on the GOP.He'd win if the GOP had the balls to nominate him, and he would wreak havoc on both parties if he ran as an independent.
Grifters going grift and maybe some fun
So... is it working, from your vantage point? They're already shifting away from all the "free gibs", "Defund the pigs", "pro-woke" shit in the primaries in my state. Kinda. A little bit too early to tell.So... is it working, from your vantage point?
So, COVID is done with? It's been two years. In other news, the final death blow for the COVID panic in the US: Dr. Fauxi FINALLY takes the hint.

US out of the ‘pandemic phase’ of COVID-19, Dr. Anthony Fauci says
Dr. Anthony Fauci says the US is no longer in the “pandemic phase” of COVID-19 — more than two years after the coronavirus first began wreaking havoc on the nation. PBS NewsHour’s Judy Woodruff pressed the White House chief medical adviser Tuesday on the state of the virus in the US, particularly as many Americans prepare to receive their second booster shots and mask requirements are lifted across the country. “Here we are. It’s the end of April. It’s the spring of 2022. How close are we to the end of the pandemic?” Woodruff asked.
“We are certainly, right now, in this country out of the pandemic phase,” Fauci replied. “Namely, we don’t have 900,000 new infections a day and tens and tens and tens of thousands of hospitalizations and thousands of deaths. We are at a low level right now.” “So, if you’re saying, are we out of the pandemic phase in this country, we are,” he added. But the health adviser warned: “We’re not going to eradicate this virus.”
Fauci noted that efforts, such as intermittently vaccinating people, may have to continue every year to keep infection levels low. While the US is no longer in the “pandemic phase,” Fauci said there is still a global crisis. “Pandemic means a widespread, throughout the world, infection that spreads rapidly among people,” he said. “So, if you look at the global situation, there’s no doubt this pandemic is still ongoing.” Earlier this month, Fauci indicated his support for individual Americans making their own medical risk assessments when it comes to COVID-19.
“This is not going to be eradicated, and it’s not going to be eliminated,” he told ABC’s “This Week.” “And what’s going to happen is that we’re going to see that each individual is going to have to make their calculation of the amount of risk that they want to take.” Fauci’s hopeful rhetoric is in stark contrast to the dire warnings he issued at the start of the pandemic, urging Americans to follow social distancing and masking guidelines. However, the nation’s leading infectious diseases expert still recently slammed a Florida federal judge’s decision to strike down the Biden administration’s extension of a policy that required masks on public transportation. “The CDC has the capability, through a large number of trained epidemiologists, scientists, to be able to make projections and make recommendations,” he said to CBS News. “Far more than a judge with no experience in public health.”
Fauci’s comments come as the US experiences a small uptick in positive COVID-19 infections driven by the BA.2 subvariant of the virus. In DC, dozens of lawmakers, journalists, administration officials tested positive this month after attending various dinners and events. Earlier this month though, Fauci said the variant did not “appear to be associated with an increase in hospitalizations and severe disease.”

As shown in the bolded part, he's going out kicking and screaming.
if i can't have my coffee as top joe, i guess it can be rogan
Most of the country has been done with the coof for at least a year now, and it's only been the die-hard blue states and cities (especially the cities) that have been trying to keep the hysteria going. But I'm sure we've all noticed how those blue mandates kept toppling one after the other over the past couple months, and how the feds aren't fighting to hold onto those powers nearly as hard as they could be. A couple are still clinging to the past by bringing back masks or refusing to end existing mandates, but continued backlash will hopefully make them see the light. So, COVID is done with? It's been two years.
Which, of course, leads to the natural paradigm of what happens when doubling down is your only option: You fray harder and harder at the edges as you lose more and more of the normies.
I just call that life.On one hand I find that terribly relieving, and on the other I find it massively disappointing. Don’t know if there’s even a word for this feeling.
It's too early to say.Are things measurably shifting, the pendulum swinging back?
No image of a timeless actress? I feel cheated...It's too early to say.
Biden don't deserve such class. No image of a timeless actress? I feel cheated...![]()
I will say slowly, but surely, people are getting pissed off at the zeitgeist. Results are showing through election turnout and public outcry. Are things measurably shifting, the pendulum swinging back?
It's
Honestly I think this is just going to be used to justify ending Title 42. Meanwhile there is still the CMS mask/jab mandate for healthcare workers, the jab mandate for military, the mask mandate for airline/public transport that they're appealing, the federal employee mandate (is being appealed by those suing), and the federal contractor mandate (up in the air).In other news, the final death blow for the COVID panic in the US: Dr. Fauxi FINALLY takes the hint.
