I find it interesting that both Sarah Hammer and Kellie Andes both are considered real life potential sweethearts even though neither of them did much for him during his developmental years while Tiffany was perhaps the pallest of the gal pals and isn't considered potential sweetheart material until over a decade after they met. Like I get the vibe that all the other gal-pals were actually Tiffany Gowan's friends and that she was the one that was either paid or took pity to be around Chris.
Would Chris’s life had been easier he had actually just been born legitimately mentally handicapped and not just autistic and phenomenally stupid? I imagine he wouldv’e been a much more pleasant if simple guy to be around and would have possibly held down a job and never grown overweight and might have even found a nice girl who actually loved him? Would it be for the better?
I attended a talk by Joe Bob Briggs about the south and Piedmont clay areas like where Chris lives, and they are surprisingly tolerant of folks like cripples and the feeble minded. It really became the cultural norm after the civil war, to see crippled veterans being employed as an act of community generosity, and that generally spread to the really low end simpletons, even lower than Chris. It might explain the court's down there always giving Chris the lightest punishment over time, not knowing anything about him. However, like in olden times, Chris would be the one the town complains keeps trying to break into their barns to fuck their goats, and ends up living in a shed behind the house, having the neighborhood kids and teens to bully him into not wanting to leave except for certain times.
Tiffany definitely seemed like the traditional southern girl, taking pity on Chris in high school. It was probably a good thing he never really became the horny sex obsessed monster until after high school, so to her, him babbling about Sonichu or Legos just seemed like the traditional guy that's a little slow.
Unique to Chris' case though I think it stems from his media consumption. You have to remember that Chris takes media as 1:1 to reality and consumed a lot of pornography, even the depraved stuff. Chris at the age of 26 really believed that there was a super villain out there named Clyde Cash that was trying to make sure he never would lose his virginity. One who owned a mansion, one who went to Nintendo Headquarters and took over the Sonichu project, and one who would find out where he lives and kill him in the night. All because his brother comitted suicide over Sonichu.
Oh definitely, I believe he honestly thought that there were these secret evil groups out there, even in real life. I imagine the Greene County Conspiracy had all kinds of bad actors involved, and when Chris saw similar on TV with villain tropes, there isn't any reason why he wouldn't think that's how the entire world worked. Mix in things like people messing with him in real life, like the ED sign, and a tard like Chris would believe most anything.
I think Chris only shows regret or shame over what the media tells him to.
But that's another bonkers thing, Chris watches media aimed mostly at children. It seems a lot of it like Transformers, or MLP, fuck, even Sonic, had some sort of wholesome message. "Don't tell lies", "Don't steal", etc..., yet those things, except when Chris uses them on himself, don't register that he shouldn't do it to other people. Like I'm sure he would welcome someone coming clean about lying to him, but for him to do it, is unthinkable. That's completely opposite of what the majority of the media he watches is all about.
