no, more like japan and germany were.
american nation building efforts in sandnigger shitholes were a fools errant, but ukraine is not in need of nation building, nor is it a sandnigger shithole. if they join the european economy, there's nothing preventing them from achieving similar levels of prosperity as poland or czechia.
:optimistic:

They've had tens of billions of Euros and USD worth of aid (not including military aid) and a preferential trade deal with the EU since the 2014 coup, and the place was still the poorest and most corrupt country in Europe before the war.

Now it's the poorest and most corrupt country in Europe, but with most of its industry and resources under Russian control, over 5.4 million of their women, children and young people in Poland and Germany, untold numbers of young men dead or maimed, and Nato turning it into a permanent PvP zone on Russia's border.

And the EU and US are no longer flush with cash, both looking at years, maybe decades of painful retrenchment and falling living standards due to dumb lockdowns, dumber environmental bullshit, and too many people failing at the simple task of doing sex to women and make babies. The money spigot cannot keep gushing, therefore it won't.

The West isn't living in 1945 anymore, it's more like the late Roman Empire:
Even as Rome was under attack from outside forces, it was also crumbling from within thanks to a severe financial crisis. Constant wars and overspending had significantly lightened imperial coffers, and oppressive taxation and inflation had widened the gap between rich and poor

There's definitely hope for Ukraine and the West, but not thru doing the same dumb shit that got us all into this mess. Western culture in 2022 is soulless and sterile, something new is needed.

The hell? Have you paid no attention to space news beyond headlines that the space shuttle was discontinued? It was decommissioned during the Obama era because it was fundamentally unsafe. Aging shuttles and no good way to prevent a repeat of the Columbia disaster. So they let it die in favor of putting money towards replacements with the Commercial Crew program. Boeing hasn't gotten it's shit together yet, but SpaceX competed it's Crew Dragon spacecraft that just sent its fourth crew to the ISS and has a cargo variant delivering cargo as well. Russia has no more control over the ISS than they've had all along - which is to say the ISS relies on power from the Russian modules the same way it relies on the US modules for other things. The only advantages the space shuttle had over the dragons is cargo space, but that's more to do with it having a large bay where they could do shit like service satellite, not anything to do with ongoing use and maintenance of the ISS.
Ah, so we don't need to worry then. Trump will lead a Space Force boarding party on the next Crew Dragon to replant the United States Flag on the ISS and rename it to the "Citadel of the God Emperor of Mankind", from which he'll manage his 2024 campaign and conquest of Mars.

Yes, I have paid absolutely no attention to space news for the last 10 years

Apparently the Russians unfurled the USSR Victory Banner off the ISS.

I'm going to call it fake given it doesn't seem to be reported anywhere and there'd be a ton of outrage if it'd happened as the spacewalk would have been broadcast live. Most likely this is from yesterday when they went on a space walk to remove some thermal blankets from a robotic arm. Someone probably saw a chance to make an easy flag edit out of the blankets waving around.

Most countries have had an absolutely devastating experience by joining the EU. I believe its Bulgaria that had nearly 1/5th of its population depart for wealthier nations, admission to the EU has had a greater depopulating effect than the world wars. Admitting your poor as shit country into the EU is only beneficial to the wealthy, it puts the country into a death spiral and the monetary compensation the EU does for such population drains is no where near commensurate to the damage done to the fabric of society.

Would they even have enough uniforms and boots to send half a million to Ukraine at the same time?
If they have the artillery, they wouldn't need more than an extra 100,000.

Maybe not but the logistic is a lot less nightmarish for the Russians than for the Ukrainians since they now have to haul all that new equipment from western Ukraine to the Donbass front (and that's thousands of miles of distance)

The Ukrie logistical infrastructure is getting bombed with missiles and they are using their fuel at insane rates to transport all those supplies to the front.

Bohemia fucked itself when they deported all the germans, it was a pretty rich area before and till the end of ww2.
There was no deportation of Germans from Czechia, it was a special transportation operation.
Seriously tho, it's more like commies fucked up everything and since the land borders with Germany, it has drawn a lot of their investment, yeah.

But this seems to be true:

Poland on the other hand is now richer than ever before, mostly because they stole a bunch of good german lands. Danzig is the only major polish city that isnt a total shithole, and nothing worth while in it was build in the last 80 years.

Poland was a shithole from the end of WW2 to the fall of Communism. So was East Germany. Because Communism fucking sucks. When the Berlin wall came down, on the eastern side, there were still buildings with WW2-era damage to them.

It was also a shithole before ww2 and will always stay a shithole and no amount of money will fix it.
East Prussia was given to the germans by god, stealing ir has doomed them to beeing the nigger of europe for eternity.

Given by God, lost by Hitler, just like everything else good Germany ever had.
