I'm honestly more surprised that the media is still paying attention to it now the 2+ month public perception window has passed. A few weeks ago I thought the media was toning down a bit but no, it's still usually the top story every night.

It's the biggest war in Europe since WWII. They'd find it difficult to stop covering it. Keeping them from doing so is part of the reason Zelensky won't shut up. If they can kill 5 minutes with some sound bites from him and some pictures of destroyed buildings to pad out the "we barely know what's going on other than things are moving slowly or stalemated" announcement, the media's happy.
