General GunTuber thread

I still think it’s weird that people think Inrange was pushing people to buy these. Just talking about parts in 2017 when they weren’t doing it as a commercial product made GWACS sell out its inventory of thousands. It resulted in us sellling thousands of SLT triggers. Faxon carbon fiber handguards were constantly out of stock then too.

For the most part the people who bought the complete 2020 rifle knew they wanted one and just didn’t want to piece it together themself. They didn’t have to be sold on it.

The InRange audience buys stuff at a dramatically higher rate than other audiences. They bought out months of production of Blunderbusses, Tommy Built T36s, and some of the optics we’ve reviewed. I’ve never seen the same impact on sales from any other media source I’ve worked with including RECOIL, TTAG, TFB, or Forgotten Weapons.
NEETs are a hell of a drug

Not in education, employment, or training aka basement dweller hype beast autists with too much discretionary spending
Where do they get that excessive discretionary spending if they're not in employment? For most basement dwellers, mommy's credit card only goes so far.

I’ve certainly talked to some that we’re spending their parents money, But most I’ve talked to are single people with no kids and decent jobs; engineers, IT, machinists, welders, etc. It’s easy to have expensive hobbies when you don’t have responsibilities.

Fucked up thing is is I have seen shot up dish washers and washing machines and whatnot out on the mesa. Shit can honestly get creepy out there..
Some people are just really dedicated to shooting up old shit. While hiking a few years back we found a washing machine full of bullet holes in the middle of the fucking woods, at least three miles away from the road. Someone went through all the trouble of carrying the damn thing all the way up the trail, then at least ten yards into the woods proper until they found a clearing.

Shit, I'd rather buy a steel target and call it a day. At least I'd be able to bring it back home with me.
People who take heavy appliances/TVs/furniture out to pristine, beautiful land untouched by man (for the most part anyway) to shoot up and then leave said shit behind need to be put on a train.

Do not get me started with fuckers who cause good shooting locations to close up because of their niggerish behavior.

LMAO. Fucking BLUNDERBUSSES??? Do SRAfags really???????

The G36 is cool but mostly a meme for $2000 anyway. Maybe I'm just coping tho....

I would describe them as almost cultish. It's why I hate it when FW reviews something I've been thinking of acquiring, I know then it's going to become 100x harder to procure.
My friend described InRange's shooting content as similar to people who golf. It has no real utility and its expensive. Cycling is another. Dentists here buy the multi thousand dollar bicycles and only ride them on a Sunday with other doctors.

Golfing and Cyclists would be 3 Gun; and that’s the same age/economic bracket in my area generally.

2GACM/Brutality matches are much less expensive for the threshold of equipment required to do well. People have placed and won with mini-14s and AKs. You won’t ever see that happen in 3 Gun.

Yes really. If you want a gun that can shoot any kind of garbage out of it, that’s the one that will do it. Literally load it up with rocks, nails, and broken glass if you want.

I’d be willing to pay up to $1000 for a G36 clone myself, for my Ghosts of Mars cosplay. Knowing what I know about what it costs to make stuff I can’t stomach paying $2k+ for one myself. I understand there’s tooling costs to recover, but I’d rather do that over 2-3 times the number of rifles and actually break into the mass market with it.

HK could have done this themselves decades ago by shipping the molds over here for month or two and having enough inventory for a decade.

Please that would mean HK would have to care about the civilian market in any context other than vague contempt.

It's why I hate it when FW reviews something I've been thinking of acquiring,
The Rock Island Auction guy even mentioned Ian's videos inflate prices. The M1 Carbines inflated a ridiculous amount. The specific lot Ian mentioned in his sporting auction video went for more than comparable lots.
It's also happening with certain parts kits due to AWCY's teaser videos for 3D printed frames.

With the name "What Would Stoner Do" that is baiting a lot of people who otherwise wouldn't care or GAF that some Youtuber Celebs are pimping yet another AR-15.
Kinda smarmy to call it WWSD and then sell it as such. Kinda makes it sound like you think your rifle is the only real version of the AR platform.
In all fairness the very basic question of "What would the most modern AR possible look like" is a very interesting question and I did enjoy the building and testing videos.

You think he'd still be using DI? Not too many new rifles being produced with DI versus a gas piston.
Both DI and gas piston were around when he was developing the AR10, the AR15, and then later when he went on to do the SR25. The man liked DI. I can't say for certain that he would have went with a DI if he made the rifle nowadays but there's a good chance he would have.

Fair enough.

Late 80ies, early 90ies HK was extremely pro 2nd Amendment and eager to get into U.S. civilian market. But they and other foreign gun makers got fucked over harded by the U.S. domestic gun industry. Who were very fuddish and anti-2nd Amendment on guns and who could have them. And like the U.S. Auto industry REEEEE over having foreign competition. And were extremely successful in convincing the U.S. Govt into banning the importation of foreign guns.
This is a very basic summarization of what I read on this roughly a decade ago.

New Donut Operator video has dropped.

Good news; the beard is super trim on the sides but the chin beard is kind of thick and getting little bit long. His mustache however is super neatly trimmed and back to first appearance Donut Cop level hotness.

Sadly Donut STILL hasn't gotten a haircut and rocking the long hair mullet look, but he seems to be wearing a baseball cap to hide his bad hair day shame from viewers.

Also, while wearing a plain t-shirt in the promotional bit he does at the start of the video, in the main video itself he's wearing a flannel t-shirt with a flannel shirt and no t-shirt.

No clue if he's been reading my posts here, but it seems like someone has told Donut how white trashy unkempt he's been looking on video and he's started babysteps cleaning himself up for his videos.

And in further news, Garand Thumb and Administrative Results seem to be working on a Starship Troopers LARP video. Administrative Results has been posting pics of himself in Starship Trooper cosplay on Instagram and clips of AR and GT reenacting the "news video" bits from Starship Troopers, complete with Garand Thumb repeating the "I'm from Beunos Aires and I say we kill them all!" bit have shown up as IG Story videos on Granad's IG page.
