You think he'd still be using DI? Not too many new rifles being produced with DI versus a gas piston.
Both DI and gas piston were around when he was developing the AR10, the AR15, and then later when he went on to do the SR25. The man liked DI. I can't say for certain that he would have went with a DI if he made the rifle nowadays but there's a good chance he would have.

Fair enough.

Please that would mean HK would have to care about the civilian market in any context other than vague contempt.
Late 80ies, early 90ies HK was extremely pro 2nd Amendment and eager to get into U.S. civilian market. But they and other foreign gun makers got fucked over harded by the U.S. domestic gun industry. Who were very fuddish and anti-2nd Amendment on guns and who could have them. And like the U.S. Auto industry REEEEE over having foreign competition. And were extremely successful in convincing the U.S. Govt into banning the importation of foreign guns.
This is a very basic summarization of what I read on this roughly a decade ago.

New Donut Operator video has dropped.

Good news; the beard is super trim on the sides but the chin beard is kind of thick and getting little bit long. His mustache however is super neatly trimmed and back to first appearance Donut Cop level hotness.

Sadly Donut STILL hasn't gotten a haircut and rocking the long hair mullet look, but he seems to be wearing a baseball cap to hide his bad hair day shame from viewers.

Also, while wearing a plain t-shirt in the promotional bit he does at the start of the video, in the main video itself he's wearing a flannel t-shirt with a flannel shirt and no t-shirt.

No clue if he's been reading my posts here, but it seems like someone has told Donut how white trashy unkempt he's been looking on video and he's started babysteps cleaning himself up for his videos.

And in further news, Garand Thumb and Administrative Results seem to be working on a Starship Troopers LARP video. Administrative Results has been posting pics of himself in Starship Trooper cosplay on Instagram and clips of AR and GT reenacting the "news video" bits from Starship Troopers, complete with Garand Thumb repeating the "I'm from Beunos Aires and I say we kill them all!" bit have shown up as IG Story videos on Granad's IG page.

That's actually pretty cool. They made so many of those Mobile Infantry props that it wasn't uncommon to see them in different film and TV productions even a decade later.

You think he'd still be using DI? Not too many new rifles being designed with DI versus a gas piston.
That's an interesting question. I think Stoner would probably stick with DI for any AR derivative like the SR-25 but I don't know if he would use it in any other design. He didn't use it in his Stoner 62/63 or AR-18 designs.

I feel like the DI/internal piston system is kind of a dead end design wise. That's not to say it's a bad system or it doesn't have any advantages or even development life left in it but I think it's telling that it wasn't really ever used it outside of AR10/15 derivatives.

We live in a long stroke piston (AK) and a short stroke piston (AR-18 ) world.

They bought out months of production of Blunderbusses

LMAO. Fucking BLUNDERBUSSES??? Do SRAfags really???????
Wasn't in the market for a Blunderbuss, but when I found out I could get a Brown Bess at half the cost by doing my own gunsmithing, I jumped on it. Wanted one for a long time, but couldn't justify ~$1000 on a repro. Shoot the hell out of it too and had a great time terrorizing my friend that watched me activate that Indo-Canadian "prop gun".

Unfortunately all the Starship Troopers stuff was just for a skit before the VHS2 review.

I've seen alleged several times that a big part of their shitty behavior is mandated by the German government. They apparently regularly threaten their licenses/abity to operate if they do XYZ on the civilin market

German government hates civilian gun ownership, this isn't really new. HK themselves just suck even without the meddling. I say this as someone that would sacrifice their children before their MP5.

I also think that the design of the bolt carrier group and the gas system is what makes an AR15 an AR15, once you change either of those you end up with something else.
