General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

Do you speak Indonesian @Scuttle? Do you know how to lurk the Indonesian Facebook scene where all the weebs are? Do you know their culture? Their internetspeak?

I just want to ask because I find it funny you just easily dismissed someone who actually are know of the actual situation in that scene
It's difficult to imagine a time when Hololive didn't dominate the non-Japanese scene. By all means do share it.

lol, facebook.

Anyway, all the statistics can be found on Playboard. Ollie and Reine are the clear winners in SC income (Ollie alone earning more than $200k USD). And even before Holofes, Moona could command a CCV of 5-7k regularly on her unarchived karaoke.

The only other ID vtubers to approach those numbers have been Mika Melatika (NijiID) and Mythia Batford (indie). The latter initially got a boost from the FB and tiktok crowd, but has since lost much of that audience. We'll see if they stick around for Kobo.

I'm assuming @Rezza is speaking specifically about domestic success but I don't know how you'd measure that maybe currency based superchat, which might exist but I'm not sure where. Probably easy enough to script something to pull the data but I can't be bothered.

As far as viewers go only the VTubers themselves have access to their demographic numbers but I guess you could go by chat/comment language % and scale that to total viewership or something to get rough numbers. I know there was a site but I don't think they specifically track ID and I don't think they track non-Holos but I could be wrong.

I wouldn't use Facebook as a perfect indication of domestic engagement but it is a data point and not to be dismissed entirely.

HoloID does lean into the non-ID fanbase quite heavily. Reine is pretty much an EN streamer. Anya recently got a boost when she started tapping into the JP audience. Moona got popular from the general Hololive viewership with her PekoMoon Minecraft shenanigans. A lot of HoloID's success can be attributed to general Hololive viewership, which is why Ollie's numbers took a hit once Council came out and part of her fanbase migrated to girls like Baelz.

If her numbers hold, Kobo does seem to be the first successful ID-leaning Holo.

Why do Holofags act like these are the only metrics that matter?
One Rosemi stream has changed you for the better.

By the way, Kanae's announcement is that he has been signed on by Lantis Music: a subsidiary of Bandai Namco, who is most notable for producing the music of many anime idol groups like Muse, Aquors, Nijigasaki High (all Love Live), Idolosh7, Aikatsu Stars! etc. But also general pop bands and singers like Fhána.

It seems that his black-on-white thumbnail and negative version of the 'Announcement' kanji was him trolling his Antis again. He tends to do that.

IDs can't superchat with their own currency, which is why the HoloIDs take Streamlabs and Sociabuzz (ID-specific Streamlabs equivalent) and the other Holo branches don't. I assume NijiIDs and other Vtubers serving that audience do as well.

I know there was HoloChatStats, though as you say they only track Holos. The issue with pulling out % ID comments is that Bahasa Indonesia also uses Latin script.

Numberfaggots constantly forgetting about streamlabs is so par for the course at this stage, it doesn't even make for a good rattle or tribal fight. There are "number fundamentalists" on /vt/ who call for the erradication of any chuuba that isn't raking in big subs/concurrent viewers, naturally their favorite targets are Mel, Aki, Sana, etc. so I had assumed they would drop by here and share their sputum with the rest of the class.

I decided to buy a Mumei calendar

Mala is the Chinese word for the unique spicy and numbing sensation caused by Sichuan peppercorn which is both a spicy pepper and a local anesthetic. It's a type of spiciness that creeps up on you because of the initial numbness and can burn a hole in your stomach if you eat too fast and aren't used to it.

Is it just me or did the Phase Girls get an upgrade to their rigging? I though I saw something from the twitter advertising someone who does rigging and using the girls as an example but I didn't see an official announcement and I can't find it amongst the Offkai tweets. Pippa's avatar looks a lot more fluid and responsive now from what it was 2 weeks ago.

On a side note, it has been really, really nice watching the our yabbit get super excited these past few days. The genuine love she has for this goofy ass hobby and her genmates is heartwarming. You're gonna knock 'em dead at your panel kid. Go gettem!

Is there anything that man cant do?

Holy shit I literally forgot about them until now (kind of a testament to their very good marketing tbh)
I honestly thought they'd get more traction overtime the first time I saw them floating around, especially after that whole fully animated trailer by Yukiko Horiguchi of all people.

Edit:
Just checked each one of them out again. They're all over the place lmao, some of them are Live2D, one of them is 3D/png, and one of them is just purely .png (AND IT'S THE ONE DRAWN BY AKASAKA AKA, WHY)
And Sony wanted 70 of them lmao, Verse is a shame how is been mishandled, Nanamona is the second most comfy goat sheep that i know and Hitoshiro would be welcomed to the hag club

Holy shit I thought this was a Balkans-only problem, I thought burgerbanks actually had ways to verify purchases that weren't from 1982.
It entirely depends upon the bank but almost all will have a fax option as a backup. They probably have an email documentation system as well but nobody there knows how to use it most likely. KYC stuff at banks is a pain in the ass for everyone involved.

Honestly rpr being noticed by Towa was one the best things that's ever happened to him. I still remember the reaction he had when she followed him on Twitter (see video below). I never knew about him before that event happened, but ever since I see him everywhere and seems like a genuine top notch guy. (Excuse it being Otakmori I know)
Even now you can see the EXACT moment it all took off just from the Twitter followers alone. Gaining nearly 30K followers in under a month.

Its been said before but just BEING in the Holosphere in some way or form, (rigger, artist, fellow streamer, etc) will get you some recognition. It's rather fascinating effect to see but this just goes to prove it dose happen.
