General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

SME, huh? Probably from music playing in the menus or something. WWE owns their own entrance themes, so it can't be that.

Making a WWE 2K22 stream around your fellow V-Tubers and having the VOD stay up isn't for everyone.

Do you speak Indonesian @Scuttle? Do you know how to lurk the Indonesian Facebook scene where all the weebs are? Do you know their culture? Their internetspeak?

I just want to ask because I find it funny you just easily dismissed someone who actually are know of the actual situation in that scene
Unless those facebook posts reveal that HoloID's numbers are mostly bot accounts than it really doesn't matter in this context does it? the data on hand speaks for itself and doesn't rely on your anecdotal impressions of facebook posts.

That's the nice thing about data is that it doesn't really lie. Fan communities regularly get shit wrong or just lie. See /vt/ for example.

Being able to lurk those places and parse what's being said there does have value in getting information from there about happenings with the talent. but in terms of whether or not the branch is succeeding or failing, or in need of "saving" the numbers alone answer that question.

Did it worked on Milky Queen tho? because i dont see her numbers rising on youtube, on twitch afaik has 100 avg view but thats it.

Oh i have to bring Walfie as well, he barely can surpass the 3 view mark.
Ok so what's the difference between this "fascinating effect" and being a grifter
What makes it "Fascinating" is how "Magical" it is. Sometimes it like a fire cracker, you get short bursts of recognition but it don't really linger, other times it the grand daddy big firework that goes on forever and just keeps on escalating. At the end of the day is all on outside person to how much of an impact it could potentially have. @Azchan summed it up pretty well, saved me writing out a load of stuff.

WWE's music rights are in a messy situation right now.

Jim Johnston (plus some leftover tracks from Jimmy Hart in the 80's) used to write everything until the late 2010's, in which he was phased out for a new (cheaper) duo called CF0$. However CF0$ contract was brought out by a third party music label a few years ago and they want complete legal ownership of everything they've made. WWE refusing to play hardball, decided to rapid fire new songs with multiple misc. artists (increasing the licence rights problems) atop of using a variety of stock tracks that aren't covered by YouTube or DOVA's licence agreement. Naturally the fans suffered as that meant wrestlers going from iconic entrance tracks to a constantly shifting blur of dubstep and mumble rap one week to budget nu-metal / butt rock the next.

Oh and there are a ton of actual licenced tracks in the game that will randomly play in some menus. Have fun with that.
That is true, but all of that has nothing to do with Sony Music who was the one who took down the VOD.

I think there is an important distinction between being successful as an extension of the EN branch and being successful in Indonesia. Neither takes away from their success, but it is a worthwhile thing to note.

It's difficult to imagine a time when Hololive didn't dominate the non-Japanese scene. By all means do share it.
Remember when Moona started playing Minecraft with Pekora because of the "Hey Moona" arc? Back then HoloID is way smaller than now, even clearly losing to NijiID. Hell, there were lots of accusations back then that Moona leeched off Pekora and HoloJP

Also, remember when NijiID had a collab with a mobile phone company and releasing a special phone edition in Indonesia? NijiID did have stronger presence than HoloID, once. They even have their own local storefront way earlier than HoloID
Ollie and Reine are the clear winners in SC income
Yeah, this is the problem when talking about Indonesin VTubers, as explained by the quoted post here:
IDs can't superchat with their own currency, which is why the HoloIDs take Streamlabs and Sociabuzz (ID-specific Streamlabs equivalent) and the other Holo branches don't. I assume NijiIDs and other Vtubers serving that audience do as well.

I know there was HoloChatStats, though as you say they only track Holos. The issue with pulling out % ID comments is that Bahasa Indonesia also uses Latin script.
To this day, Indonesian still don't have the ability to directly send Youtube's SC. As a result, they either have to use VPN (which is a hassle for most people, for some reason), or use alternatives. And these here are where the Indies struck gold. Because while the local audience can only send small amount of money, they send it frequently

And on that front, HoloID have been lacking on promoting the usage of that alternatives, compared to their local contemporaries. What changed is HoloID adding Sociabuzz as another additional platform, which to my suspicion is what led to an incline to HoloID's numbers. Of course, there are other reasons that contributed to their increase, such as Niji reducing their presence and support in the domestic scene, Kobo causing a spike of interest, HoloFes, etc. Hell, Cover threatening to sue people over Ollie's dox might even contribute as well because the Indonesian weebs absolutely loves drama

That's the thing though, the data is incomplete because almost all of the data researchers are EOP or Nips, and they certainly can't speak Indonesian for this case. And worse of all, the vast majority of Indonesian doesn't even want to research the data, unless they are part of the industry, by which point they kept it closed as a trade secret

Totally agree, but they aren't in need of 'saving', they were never an underdog story, and they've never had less overall viewership than their competitors.

Trying to portray HoloID as this Mighty Ducks story of underdogs who pulled together and got their lucky break is bizarre for a branch guaranteed 200K subs on debut. There are more HoloID members with >1m subs than all of Nijisanji combined. Ollie has more SCs than every NijiEN girl but Pomu, and NijiID merging has done nothing to affect this because members like Nara Haramaung, Amicia Michella, Layla Alstromeria and Mika Melatika have actually been inclining without changing their ID-centric shows.

Like what on Earth are we even talking about here?

I'd be in tears too Ironmouse. lul
You son of a bitch

I laughed more than I should with that.

Vshojos average virgin fans. imagine the smell 🤮

I loved how all the goers for other vtubers just looked like typical nerd and neets, but these vshojo ones are on another level. that dude with the chumcon hat is just peak 🤌

It's weird to me how there's apparently so much overlap between the vtuber and pro wrestling fandoms. The two hobbies have nothing in common except kayfabe and flagrant homosexuality.
You're not wrong mate lmao
I kinda always wanted to get into wrestling, but always had a hard time to since I was a kid cause I know it's all kayfabe, but have a hard time getting past that cause I overthink it. (:_(

HoloID was the underdog branch I would say when it first launched in 2020. They did okay but they were around HoloStars level probably only slightly higher back than until PekoMoona happened.

Bae and Irys. I am not biased.

Whether they have talent or not. If they are actually producing good content with the talents, then why would they be grifters?
EA really couldn't get an interpretor for an international event? Sucks to be a small, indie company, I suppose.

I have a hard time believing that HoloID were supposedly weaker than NijiID at one point. I remember back when ID1 first debuted, all of their subcount already exceeded everyone in NijiID with the exception of Hana, and this was during the time when they haven't seriously trying to pander to the international fans.

You don't get to ask that question Scuttle.

Edit: Also, Scuttle, I missed Elira's stream. Why and how long is dork dragon on vacay?

Elira, Uki, Millie, and Shu are all going on a one week break at the same time. Make of that what you will. She'll be back on the 10th, in time for the LazuLight/NijiEN 1-year Anniversary the following week.

If it's all just a coincidence then I'm glad they feel situated enough to take breaks, but not having Millie or Elira at the same time will be rough because I watch them whilst studying and it's Finals month. :/

I know how you feel man. Might I recommend Nene Amano? She's really sweet and good at chatting and singing. You might like her and she'd fill a gap.
