The older Paisley gets, the more disturbing she is to look at. That tongue thrusting is far from cute... Her mother says they're doing physical therapy with her. Yet she never shows any pictures or videos to prove it. Just always the same motionless, freaky-looking Paisley who would be long gone if it wasn't for machines breathing for her and feeding her. Such a grim existence I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy..
I'm on the fence. She has other kids to consider. I know some parents have to make a heartbreaking decision to place a violent SN teenager in residential care for the safety of the other kids. Without knowing the details of Harvey's challenging behaviour it's hard to say whether it might not be a sad necessity to have him live in a care home.
It'd be nice if she was getting her some kind of gentle PT to prevent contractures but she strikes me as the type who would rub her with undiluted MLM essential oils and think that has MaJoR hEaLiNg PoWeRs. If she does get her PT, it's probably the kind of scary quack that throws Luna Ramirez around like a ragdoll.
They're religious folks so I'd think they'd stay away from the woo. I know the mom doesn't like anyone coming to the house, like nurses or caregivers, because, you know, she knows better and noone knows Paisley's condition the way she does. I thought with the Monat she'd be into EOs too bc they are so common with MLMs. Imagine this dummy trying to do PT. Good thing Paisley is going to die young so she won't have to deal with the permanent damage her mom's poor PT attempts cause. The mom is really on the lower end of normal IQ.
She actually quit Monat because she claimed it was too spammy. I guess she had enough common sense to realize it was a scam. She never said anything about quitting until people started questioning her about it. She went from claiming it was the best thing in the world and convincing people to join her Monat tribe to not saying anything at all and when asked, she said it was a personal decision. Then she finally spilled her guts when people started pressuring her for answers.
I wonder if people with lower IQs but (seemingly) healthy are more likely to have super tards like Paisley? You'd expect the kid to have a mild LD like the parents.
Paisley will likely have low IQ no matter what, even if her parents were geniuses. I read somewhere that kids with TD have an IQ of 20 or less, which is pretty much severe mental retardation. Which I think Paisley is already showing signs of. I don't know about low IQ parents having super-tard babies. I think it this case their self-serving religious beliefs cloud their judgement. The mom knew Paisley would come out like this but insisted on having her anyway. I guess I sort of understand a mother's love and the desire for her child to survive. I do have some empathy for her... but I also think at the end of the day it should be about said child and Paisley's not compatible with life. Period. I don't care how much her mother tries to sugar coat things or chalk things up to God's plan. She's got to be miserable from just looking at Paisley. She's wasting her life, her husband's life and various resources trying to keep her daughter alive while she stares at a ceiling, makes disturbing faces and thrusts her oversize tongue cause that's the only thing she can control with movement.
