Most doctors don't like nor are they trained to prescribe HRT. The most common group of people who get HRT are either troons or steroid abusers.

I'm aware of that, I was merely pointing out the fact that they used a man to depict "cis people", considering that the only man who'd get HRT would be a troon.

I was kind of skimming this and because of the mention of periods I just assumed it was an aiden, this picture at the end gave me a real double take. Does he like… know that he looks like that? :story:

I have a theory that the root of a lot of troonism is people that live deeply unfulfilling lives with no “goal” in sight beyond continuing to exist another day. trooning out provides an excuse for your past behavior (of course I was a failure as x, turns out I was actually y all along) and transition gives them a tangible goal in sight with a huge social booster in terminally online circles, which these people usually were raised by. It also explains the high suicides, once you’re “done” transitioning and you still feel like shit, I imagine you realize quite quickly that you missed the mark on the initial problem and the void will never leave you. Of course some may just double down on trying to “perfectly pass” (an unachievable goal, but at least a goal to work towards in their mind.)

I’m not a psychologist but I’ve observed a lot of troon pathology and I think I’m onto something with this.

Agreed. This system as it is now is also very fragile and why a single-payer system like the much touted Medicare for All is such a complicated and IMO overly simplistic idea as written that would greatly disrupt things here for a long time. I could go into detail why, but that's moai territory and off-topic. It's broken, a hack, a kludge, but it more or less functions. It could be improved, but the political "geniuses" in power right now have all the wrong ideas on how to do so, and can't work together to get the right people to help guide them to fix things.
