Began, the energy wars have.

The US is about to pass legislation that will allow American courts to pass judgment on ALL energy exporting countries. It's more than anti-Russian measure, it's blatantly anti-OPEC+.

In layman's terms, If the US doesn't like a country, they sue it in their own court, fine that country and seize that country's assets in the US financial system. Bonus points if said assets are used to purchase more oil from somebody else later.

The tunnels were built by the Soviet’s to be a Government Command and Control bunker near Sevastopol, in the event of Nuclear War. I don’t think conventional artilery will do much to them. For all the Soviet Unions major failings, building bunkers was not one of them.

I can't imagine flooding the tunnels is possible. Not only are there literally miles of tunnels, but there will be fire/blast doors all over the place. I wonder if they have sealed themselves in and have the air being re-circulated and filtered, or they have fresh air being drawn in. If the latter then they could be gassed out, but I assume there is NBC kit available down there.
Tbh; i don't understand why the russians are even bothering to bomb the place. It is a waste of materials and money and better they concentrate on getting civilians out of the place so they can look good.. If the russians have control of the area they should just surround the place and wait for the Azov nazis to get bored/hungry/eat each other.

Probably practical reasons tbh. It's a massive pain in the ass to pull something off like that, and an even bigger pain in the ass to clean up after it. Also you'd destroy a lot of good intel in the process.

I'm sure the AFU fighting, and the civilians in the contested areas will be comforted to know that US Intel is calling the Russian advance "tepid" and "anaemic". I'm sure everyone in the region will sleep soundly knowing that some faggot at at pentagon looked at some Twitter photos and concluded that the Russians aren't up to much. The top general of the Special Friendship Operation was also definitely wounded so add him to the "casualties" column on Ukrainian Wikipedia.

Cause getting the water into the tunnel isn't as easy as letting the sink run

Mariupol hasn't had running water for over a month now, and pumping water from the sea into the tunnels would require getting closer to the plant than the Russians currently dare. Pumping water would also take time, and the presence of equipment and personnel would require the artillery barrages to stop, which would allow the defenders to come out again and pick off the nearby troops

they are desperate for a propaganda victory in mariupol. as long as holdouts in azovstal remain, all the russian claims about having taken the city ring hollow. they don't like that, they want to gloat about RUSSIA STRONK and that doesn't work well while their enemies are still resisting.
