Here's the thing, his stream never actually went offline. He has auto-stop disabled on YouTube, so his stream was still "running", it just wasn't receiving any data from his OBS. How this affects view count I can't say definitely yet, but my intuition is telling me that for all intents and purposes, the view count displayed would actually be accurate. I'm not making any definite claims until testing is done though.

If you do a test that yield's some results that something is off/suspicious, I think posting the results as a thread would be the way to go

As for viewbotting I've just assumed he has been viewbotting since coming to YouTube. I would be interested in seeing the test on Piece of Peace's stream.

Live Stream​

This script supports live streams too. Just use this script as you would for the already uploaded video. Script will automatically know if your video is live. Just bear in mind, you need a high-end pc for higher threads to get more viewers. Basically, script will check every 60 secs if youtube shows x watching now is present. If your live stream ends, script will check 5 times to be sure. In another word, after your live stream ends, script takes 5 minutes to close the driver.

Other ViewBots may use different values for timeout, or be specified by the user.
Try searching if there were any major outages in major countries when this occurred, servers getting slammed happens all the time.

i'm still two pages behind, but since we're talking about view botting, i will say this.

i don't believe -phil- is using view bots. that would be phil admitting he doesn't have as many viewers/isn't as successful as he thinks he is. you need to understand, phil is delusional. he wouldn't do something to make himself look more successful than he is in such a way. yes phil will blow his achievements up out of proportion to make himself seem more successful, but he still believes those ARE achievements.

i don't see him view botting because the very act of him having to do so would mean he's admitting to himself that he is a loser who needs that to appear successful and phil does not believe himself to be a loser.

now i'm one of the people who attributed to the evidence of view botting, so I do think something fucky is likely happening, but if anything it's a fan doing it. I just don't think Phil would do it himself anymore than I thought he'd hire a prostitute for the girlfriend experience package.

can't wait to read the next two pages of this thread and be proven wrong, honestly.

This is an excellent counter point, he is extremely lazy. But I wouldn’t put it past him to make his minions do it. I mean they hold his hand every game anyway so why not views too?

i do not believe phil would himself have any involvement in it.

like i said, phil does not believe himself to be a loser. he legitimately thinks he is successful, why would he use viewbots if he's successful?

using them would be admitting he isn't doing as well as he thought and he would never do that.

I don't know. I don't know how youtube works, all I'm saying is from my time watching phil, which is a long fucking time, I don't see him doing this. It doesn't match what I know of his behavior.

edit for clarification: I could maybe see some whale floating the idea to him and talking him into it for one reason or another, but I do not see Phil ever giving the order for it to happen.

If the viewbotting claim is true, I wonder how far back this goes? We all know his Twitch members were heavily inflated due to the ability to have gifted subs but if the numbers are even lower than 150 regarding actual viewers, that's really interesting. I don't know enough about viewbotting so I can't comment on the ins and outs of that shit. I just wonder how long such a thing could have been going on and how aware is he of it (if he's not responsible for it).

I do lean more in the camp that Phil is not the source because he's fucking dented but I am aware of how weird he can be when it comes to shit he can and can't do. He would be the guy who couldn't figure out velcro shoes while being able to tie shoes.

To be honest, it's so obvious he's viewbotting it's kinda like the WWEC thing. We may only have some 20 odd smoking guns in that regard, but logic should have done the trick in the first place. His chat is dead and has been since his last few days on Twitch. Twitch was just a detractor fest, in fact. YT chat is glacial. He wants to have 500 members and 200 likes per stream, and he needs to give the illusion that his community is somehow big enough to support that, even though it's just 40 guys tops. He's also been puffing his chest an awful lot about how he's "One of YT's top streamers" and "Usually in the first page". He couldn't reel new whales if he just admitted how irrelevant he's become. On the other hand, he can not get an audience unless he's playing fighting games and losing, and he stalls the fuck out of everything nowadays. People just wouldn't watch him.

You can run a python script (see video from @DaddyDickDown above) but might need access to proxies?

@Third_World_Detractor is familiar with python and may have a better idea

The biggest argument against viewbots I would say is his 24-hour sub-only chat restriction. It's not a room just anyone could pop in and talk so it's (at least somewhat) feasible that he'd have a bunch of viewers that aren't chatting, whether they're newcomers, hatewatchers, or what have you.
And the huge membership is mainly indicative of how submissive his whales are.

I have one counter to this, just one. Successful people don't have to beg. Couldn't he explain the view bots away in the same way he does for whatever reason a successful businessman of 14 years needs to beg?

On the other hand I think Phil is to low IQ to do this, so honestly I don't know where to stand. What if he had Team Viewer set up and someone was doing it for him????
