Romance has been boiled down into nothing more that algorithms and swiping, of course people are going to grow lax with how they present themselves- there's no real pressure or obligation to look good if you can just pick some other random person to take on a date. But perhaps I'm merely paranoid about my appearance to the point I actually give half a shit about how people perceive me.

Also like, maybe if there was some sort of like, reason that they couldn't wait- maybe their partner was going on vacation, or moving, whatever- then yeah, maybe you could make an excuse that they don't really have the time to undo all the progress they make towards being able to walk around with a smooth face, but at the same time, if there's no pressure- what harm would come in asking your partner to wait until you've gone through with whatever procedure you're prepping for?
