I find it funny that woke twitter and troons are freaking out about this, because a) the writing was on the wall for some time now, basically as soon as Trump appointed Barrett, and b) this is going to make de jure what has already de facto been going on in big chunks of the US for a decade or more now, where several states have already restricted abortion access so much through workarounds that they've effectively already outlawed it. The effect of this ruling will be that places like New York and California will keep having access, and places like Mississippi will close the last 1 or 2 clinics in the state. It's the epitome of the kind of narcissistic slacktivism that troons engage in via twitter to treat this as some new, unforeseen salvo of the fascist right, and to pretend that this is the forerunner of some kind of court sanctioned purge of the minorities. Roe v. Wade was always a narrow technical victory, if they actually cared so much they wouldn't be so blindsided by this and would have been pushing for actual legislative protection.
