I mean, Eureka Seven is a big coming of age story, Renton starts off acting extremely childish and as the story goes on slowly matures and by the end he is a man.
Most shonen shows are coming of age stories to some degree or another, they're just not fixated on things that appeal only to children. I liked the scene towards the end of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood where Edward is finally depicted as looking like an adult, and also the scene in the penultimate episode of Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, where the main character has a vision of his long-dead childhood mentor, and realizes he's already outgrown him. Those kinds of things are timeless and mature, as if they're trying to get the best out of their audience. What I saw in the episodes of Eureka Seven seemed like pandering to children. If you want to say that it eventually forms a strong narrative, I will take your word on it, but I can't watch it myself, and I suspect that even if I saw it when I was a child, I still wouldn't like it much.

Digitroon obviously fetishizes childhood, but I don't think E7 is the right series for this conversation.

Fuck, somewhere recently (maybe a livestream) he said his obsession with moe came more from wanting to be around "girls like me/around my age" and that's why he hates shit like Love Live (too idealistic and not grounded or some shit).

I kind of agree and the only thing I have to say is this: I saw E7 waaaay before FMA:B and TTGL. The latter do a better job. TTGL kind of hits the some of the same notes (like the tight knit groups of characters that play of each other really well) so it's a good comparison.

I like e7 better myself but thats because I'm a sucker for big love stories.

Regardless, the stuff that digi likes that is really childish is not stuff like e7 its like... Everything else.

Those screenshots remind me of this popular meme.

One wonders, had Digi been a little bit taller, could he have avoided all this tranny nonsense. Gays tend to be on the shorter side (and in fact, him turning gay is way more surprising and frankly disappointing to me, than him wearing women's clothes.)

Digi has been Molebeated; they appear to be a Japanese company (this is their website; some basic info on the business) that flags any anime content on Youtube they deem to be a copyright violation, apparently on the behalf of Japanese producers.

This small anituber, Bibi's World, does a pretty good job explaining how Molebeat works through her own experiences dealing with them; she finally won against them by fighting Molebeat's copyright claim, after they got her videos demonetized and blocked in Japan. She implores any other creator who finds themselves in her situation to follow her example and fight Molebeat's claims:

Another anituber, The Smuggler, points out that Molebeat appears to largely target small anitubers:

Despite Digi's 311K subscriber count, his current videos' viewcounts has likely lead to him being a target now to complete sharks like Molebeat.

I also have no idea why he is bothering to threaten Molebeat that if they don't drop their claim on his Musoku Tensai video, they will get "a wave of emails" from his fans. Fight your own battles, Digi, jesus, don't get your fans involved in a mass harassment campaign.

This strikes me as stupid broscience nonsense. Digi has explained plenty of legitimate psychological reasons for trooning out (being scared of the hard work lifestyle his father had and thinking women don't have to work hard, loli fetish, obsessive masturbation/porn addiction for years, AGP, etc.).

6 ft+ troon males towering over natal females is a meme for a reason. There are plenty of tall gays, troons, etc.

There is one argument for the diminutive height (how tall is Digi, anyway? He wasn't much taller than May, so like 5ft7?) leading to a troon out; Digi was always obsessed with how feminine he appeared to look when he was young, so with women usually being a fair few inches shorter than men, on average, perhaps he always felt effeminate = a transwoman all this time.

Otherwise, I don't think if he was taller he would avoided trooning out in the first place. Also, he was always likely bisexual or somewhere on the sexuality spectrum to begin with, so height had nothing to do with that as well.

it's fun to watch this play out, to worm his way back into youtube's good graces he has to cover mainstream shit in between the boomer Anime Alphabet series (which he likely hates), which means he's more at risk for loansharks like Molebeat to come knocking. Speaking of the "AA series", his "preview" of the E7 episode ended as more of an update video in which he admits to now splitting up the video and then piecing it back together (similar to Asswar series) after the fact because he and Brid are moving and the two fags are desperate for money.

Speaking of the successfulness of that series and the other anime-analysis related videos he has done post-Voidgazers, he talked about the various viewcounts he has been receiving in relation to this Superchat question in his most recent livestream:

The livestream in question (starting from the timestamp, 1:01:39 "Rant about your career"):

Yes, he is short. 5'7 sounds reasonable based on how he looks in photos with other people. His "I looked like a girl" perspective is based on his old hair style. He always talks about his how he had long hair as a kid. Why focus on this single shallow feature? Because it is a shallow post-hoc justification for something he already wanted to do.

His boyfriend, "Bird," is a gay man who looks quite tall.

does less than 50 people count as a mass harassment campaign?

The entitlement of some youtubers is laughable. People like Digi act like they are owed protection and rights from a company they never had to apply to or interview for. They take any shit they find online that was made by others to put in their video and then complain when someone takes their income. Then they try to sick their mindless followers on the "big greedy corporations".

Not saying it's all unwarranted (fair use, scam companies, blah blah), but it never ceases to be retarded as fuck.

I got the impression that young Conrad looked like the Super Nerd trainer class from Pokemon Gold and Silver, from the way he described himself. Apparently, he wore glasses too, but I don't remember the video where he mentioned that. It was pre-troonout though.

I could see him having a really squeaky nerd voice when he was at the age these games actually came out, but I don't think even ten year-old me would have mistaken him for a girl short of him actually wearing girl's clothing. I might be speaking from a place of bias since I also had pretty long hair when I was in grade school. It's really bad justification for trooning out, but the trans community has also been prone to infighting about whether or not you need to be dysphoric in order to be trans in the first place. These aren't particularly rational people; additionally, water is wet.

Being a gangly, lanky mass of skin and bone will certainly give off that impression. If Digi is 5'7, then Bird is probably just shy of 6 feet going off photos of them together.

I'd feel bad for him, but the dude puts no effort into building his case for fair use. Look at his SAO 2 or Asterisk Wars videos, he used to edit in plenty of outside material to spice things up, using footage when it was appropriate to the point he was making. I just saw his High Guardian Spice review(a masterclass in backpedaling where the worst thing he can think of to call the Gunt is a GAMERGATER), and the editing quality took a noticeable dive, with almost all footage being either from the show or his side projects he's awkwardly trying to shill.

Something I almost never do is check out Digi's "Ygg studios" aka Digibro account anymore. It seems he's not only hella active; it seems he's hella desperate for cash.

Notice the "rants for superchats" every second video recently. Funny that he's releasing a summarised version of his own content while normaly, it's obsessive fans that reupload clips and parts of streams for the public.
