Holy shit!
That's a lot of shit!
I also saw this when I was scrolling through their Twitter.
Everything is literally shit!

Yeah this is an obvious result of them overburdening their land. I probably mentioned this before but in case anyone is wondering how you'd usually deal with the mountains of shit that comes with a herd: your average sheep farmer for instance would divide his pastures so that if the sheep were done grazing on one of them he could just move them to another pasture and use a machine on the first pasture to break apart the shit so that the land is fertilised and there's time for the grass to grow back.

Even people who just own a few horses who can remove the shit piles with tools every day will at some point let the horses graze on another pasture to let the grass recover. However, the tranch clearly doesn't have enough space to do this with the amount of alpacas they have and that's how you end up with a shit-covered moonscape.

Those people could be protesting against lizardmen poisoning their drinking water with kerosene and I'd still think they're saner than anyone tranch affiliated.
That's just most Kiwi Farmers IRL.

The Romans wish they could've done to Carthage what the Tranchers have done to their property. The Tranch has gone beyond Mars and is rapidly approaching Venus in how inhospitable to life it is.

Looking forward to the gas planer phase where the tranch sinks into the ground, collapsing under it's own weight and bullshit, the gases built up from all of burrito night, the alpacas dead and alive, and all their trash creating a tiny gravity well.

While it looks uncannily like a satellite compositing artefact I assure you what you are looking at is in fact the exact land parcel of the Tranch. To give you a clearer idea of what you're looking at there, Earl has graciously allowed me to peruse the logs of his dedicated anti-tranch spy satellite:

I was wondering that myself. Given that they don't show up on satellite imagery predating Tranch ownership, their granular appearance and the fact that alpacas crap communally I'm going to guess alpaca dung piles. They too are visible from space and some are as big as the RV's.
So literal shit. Goddamn perfect, these people literally let animal shit fester on their property. It has been a while since I have checked in on this thread but looks to be nothing much has changed. I would pose a secondary theory being of maybe dead grass patches or shrubs? They sometimes don't appear per say very clear and as you said some are as large as RVs, unless I am wrong in my assumption. Its funnier to think its alpaca shit

I for one choose to believe its alpaca shit. Also imagine how the Tranch smells like right about now: filthy fuck fumes, crusty cumstains and now paca poop.

For some reason I also thought of the Osho enclave back in the 80s now that i reread some tranch lore. But Oshos Antilope-commune at least had, yknow, infrastructure and stuff.

Jesus fucking Christ you ain't kidding, it's all actual shit!
At what point is this considered animal abuse?

I thought alpacas all shit on a giant community pile, making them very easy to clean up after.

Hahaha holy shit!

This reminds me of the good old days when I used to play Warcraft 3, where playing as the Undead and placing buildings would rot the surrounding nature. The Tranchers are literally the Scourge :story:

You would think with all that fucking shit some grass would grow but no.
To think that Paul is actually thinking of taking back this shit covered moonscape.
Do we tell them about what fertilizer and grass seeds are?
They can't support pasture on that land, it's too arid. This land was affordable to them because it's extremely marginal, not suitable for farming or ranching. Additionally, the loss of native plants from overgrazing has caused their thin layer of topsoil to desiccate and blow away as dust. There's nothing on the landscape to recycle the manure into new grass - no rain to wash it away or support fungi, no insects to break it apart and bury it, and no plants left to recycle the nutrients. Anything that does sprout gets immediately ripped out or trampled by hungry, overcrowded animals.

To give you an idea of how arid it is, the blue pin in the center of the picture is the Tranch properly. It's in located in an area where nothing besides scrub is able to grow.

It was a folly to try ranching here from the get go. There's a property north of them with access to a creek and another to the east with a small pond, so they might be able to grow.... anything, but not the Tranch property.

When do the neighbours become fed up with the martian landscape being recreated next to them or do the troons totally fucking up their plot have no repercussions whatsoever to anyone orbiting the tranch? I thought earlier in the thread it was discussed that the worse the land gets the more likely it spreads to adjacent properties, something that would probably negatively affect the whole libertarian farming ethos.

No repercussions afaik, you generally don't buy farm land with the intent of fucking it up as hard as possible and turning it into an unlivable hellscape, so I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't even laws associated with this situation.

They might be on the hook regarding laws to maintain property, but those are pretty weakly enforced at best in rural areas, even when they do exist. Live and let live is usually more important that minor citation screeching, the realm of urban karens.

As fun as it is to think that their property negligence will fuck them up, its more likely they get lambasted for tax fuckery with their 'charity' well before their land degredation spreads to neighbors who sue.

I'm fairly certain they'd be absolutely fucked if alpaca shit contaminated the local water table or if their localized desert spread to and ruined the neighbouring lands.
