To understand why AF is over, you must understand the psychology of political movements and it's the same psychology as investing: buy/sell, bull/bear. At any time, a stock has upward buying support and downward selling pressure. The balance of these 2 forces determines its price. So, if we think about AF during the catboy indictment, that incident created many alogs (essentially downward selling pressure) but people still had faith that Nick had good political optics and that he could take his talking points to the mainstream, so the overall effect was upward.

The final nail was the Metokur interview because that interview reached many people who didn't know Nick Fuentes and he made a terrible impression. Prior to that, the Gosar and MTG disavowals seriously hurt Nick because his message was that he was going mainstream by influencing the GOP so the disavowals created FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) in Nick's fans. A few years ago I had some sympathies and knew people who were more seriously into it, so let me try to explain.

When you're wrapped up in /pol/-tier circles, your head is spinning. You see insanity and emotional manipulation from all sides, and don't feel like there is much of a non-retard option that still upholds some of the extremism you want. All it took to market Nick to us was for him to be somewhat well-spoken and personable, and act like he recognized some nuance within the extremism. As you well know, he entirely dropped all this. However, before he went there he spent a lot of time de-legitimizing other options in the minds of his audience (calling them "wignats", etc.), so people who had chosen him as 'the last, best hope of humanity' now would have an even harder time embracing an alternative, so they just cling harder to them out of fear and loneliness. It is easier for them to cope with or straight-up ignore these fundamentally contradictory problems with him and his beliefs than to look into that void.

I'm a former viewer, if you just watch the 9pm show you get a partial view of how much of a downwards spiral the guy is in. The rumors stand apart from the erratic and feminine behavior. If you watch him regularly, you will not recognize day-to-day the considerable decline he has suffered in quality and mental stability. Compare a 2018/2019 show and a 2022 show if you want a stark contrast. Optics, political aspirations and strategic framing of issues have been abandoned, and any semblance of consistent messaging or personality has been displaced by opportunism and self-fellation.

Very disappointed in how things have progressed (i.e. regressed) for Nick. I watched him regularly and was introduced to him by Metokur in October 2019. I am throne-and-altar Catholic and recognized Nick from IBS, and back then he was imparting pretty unique analysis on a daily basis. It's pretty incredible really to do a one or two hour show every single day and even if he was a spaz, after the Q&A stuff there was enough momentum that I got on board. I thought the groyper stuff was pretty retarded but given that he was 20 or 21 in 2019 I assumed he'd grow out of it.

The lolisocks drama thoroughly weirded me out. He talked about it pretty much every night and defended the hell out of it, and absolutely nothing in the stream which I never watched seemed to present anything resembling value. Clips I did see from the stream contained David Icke theories and 13/50 jokes, neither of which aligned with his ostensible purpose of "redpilling" a wider audience. I mostly ignored this at the time since I also had other things going on in my life and did not feel like keeping up with Internet drama.

Everything after that has been a slow juggernaut away from optics and compelling analysis and toward entertaining a distracted audience through "going off" and weak takes. He got hit with that first YouTube strike and then he basically stopped caring, dropping several unveiled anti-Semitic remarks per video until Susan gracelessly terminated his channel. 2020 had moments where Nick seemed to return to form somewhat but his sperging out over superchats, associating with Laura Loomer and Baked Alaska, his need to repeat himself ten times on the same point every episode and his general disorganization meant I barely kept up with him. After Jan. 6th I tuned in more often since I had no idea what to expect the coming year and basically any dissident voice would have done it for me. The content degraded more but every now and then you still had a glimpse of the old Nick between sperging out or taking some idiotic position on an issue -- once I married my wife and had my first son I turned off his show, since he frequently swore up a storm and talked about being the next Hitler in complete defiance of 2019 Nick. He also stopped examining actual political thought in his content, in debates name-dropping Burke without rendering counter-enlightenment ideas. His only mentions of religion reflected some incredibly basic takes that lack introspection or even cohesion, e.g. "I was reading the Bible [the first chapter of the first book] and the serpent lost its legs? But it had legs before? What the?"

The complete disaster of AFPAC 3 coincided nicely with Lent this year since I saw the event but then immediately logged off the Internet for one and a half months. When I returned, I watched his debate with Destiny where he essentially torpedoed his own position towards the end and repeated three talking points without further explanation, resisting any development in the debate. He supported and later rescinded his support for some random politician in an embarrassing late night spergout. Apparently he made friends with Ethan Ralph, whom I would not trust to change my tire much less associate with my political movement. Then he picks fights with Metokur for no discernable reason aside form criticism. This thread in his entire career of losing his mind over criticism now results in this so-called serious political actor trying to revive a more boring and gayer IBS. Now he's unapologetically filing false DMCA claims for no reason, and doesn't understand the criticism of his behavior.

Everything up to this point had some path to recovery but this is pretty much the end of AF, at least my participation in it. All I can realistically do at this point is read Charles Coulombe again and ignore the news. In other words just moving on with my life. What a waste of time and talent.
