In my totally unqualified analysis;

Your intestines use an involuntary peristalsis to move shit (lol) along. You don't do a damn thing, the muscles in your intestines just constantly squeeze here and slack there and material goes through the tube. Your rectum is the part that's controlled by your cerebrum instead of your brain stem, and the tightness of that chocolate starfish can only do so much from a mechanical perspective against the involuntary buildup of pressure behind your dookie.

Solid turd is easier to hold in from that perspective than liquids that wanna squirt through any slight quiver of the butthole.
