I'd say probably the latter and that they probably pity him, mostly because Jazz was not allowed to learn social skills so he's very awkward. But that's fine, because if the girls tolerate him and he imitates them he might learn some social skills and make friends over time. He really can't lose here.
I'm glad to see Jazz is being active in a relatively safe environment. Maybe Jeanette will start micro-managing Sander now, he truly deserves it.
I know it's probably unecessarily mean (let people enjoy things etc), but I've always felt off about adults watching anime. It deserves to be shamed and mocked. I've always held my tongue but hey, looks like I was right. Anime watching in adults and teens just always felt ick- maybe because 9/10 times, where it's a person who makes it known they're an anime fan, it's accompanied by some kind of social or personality disorder. And now the most insane TRAs too have an undeniable connection to anime and I'm done. I'm not about to lose sex-based protections because it's mean to tell adults that watching autistic cartoons is embarrassing.

In my opinion it's a certain kind of anime. Moeshit basically. Good animes are now few and far between. There's a set formula for making money and the big studios follow it to a T. Every year I think it's going to be the year I stop watching and then one or two good ones come out.

You're right. There's no way in hell most of these people can resonate with most bubble era anime that was aimed towards adults. They had their target nailed while having room for risks. Only some of the hentai would be an exception with what it being a moeshit precursor.

That's a gringo problem. Adults here in Lat Am watch anime with their children and it's always a positive experience and it's normal here to enjoy one anime at least. I have many Euro friends who are also into the anime they watched in their childhood and they're normal functional adults who never trooned out.
Not all adults into anime are troons, but all troons are into anime.

It's totally possible that he'll just hang with the jocks all 4 years of school and never really have to make friends or socialize "outside sports". I think we all knew people in college who were like that. Not saying it's ideal, but it's something that plenty of people who didn't get their testicles chopped off at their mother's behest do in undergrad.
I think he loved sports as a young kid, too. It's really good to see him finding interests of his own.

I agree; it's good if he is. But lacrosse is a fast sport. I can't see him being able to actually play. Even just being on the team is great because he'll make some friends and socialize. As far as playing though? I have my doubts. But it is good to see him with normal people his age and away from his disgusting family.
