Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I can safely say that claim is 100% BS. On 6.1 patch day, one of my main CWLS had people complaining about static members who routinely recleared P1S through P4S before, suddenly fucking up basic mechanics consistently. You know why? Their mods were bricked. They literally can't beat the bosses without the help of those tools.
Can you really claim you're good enough to beat a boss if you fail at it the moment your third party tool is turned off?

WHY IS YOSHI-P PICKING ON ME SPECIFICALLY WHEN PVP ADDONS ARE THE REAL PROBLEM™"

I'm indifferent about add-ons that do things such as show your damage or put timers on party list. Stuff like paiselypark that moves waymarkers automatically is crossing the line though, and cactbot I don't care because someone doing call outs in voice is the same thing. It's a gray area and people streaming with ACT haven't really gotten in trouble but you still shouldn't risk. The reason why people who stream with it on display are getting hit is people going on report brigades, specifically 5ch because JP didn't win World First. Wish people would put the same energy to all the degenerate shit like clubs and nude mods when it came to reporting.

5ch is reporting everyone, including JP streamers like hiroro.

I think the gist of why this back-and-forth argument is constantly made without ever leading anywhere, is because there is something neither side of it wants to admit. (Or at least likes to admit)
>> The Quality of Life, or rather the lack thereof is PART of the difficulty. <<

People who play mmos for long enough don't appreciate how difficult bossfights actually are, how many different things you need to do and keep track of, all at the same time as a basic routine. Just off the top of my head
> running your rotation correctly <--multiple smaller tasks fall into this depending on the class/job
> running your rotation constantly
> keeping an eye on where the boss is
> keeping track of when the boss used each ability last and when it's coming up again
> keeping an eye on where the other players are standing or moving so you can move correctly in relation to them for certain mechanics
> keeping an eye on other players' health so you know if and when to use raises or raidwide mitigations
> keeping an eye on the arena or tiles on it to track how certain randomized parts of the bosses' abilities are chosen in each instance
> keeping an eye on the spatial area ON the arena in regards to skillshots, moving orbs and the like
> keeping an eye on the boss' cast bars to know which ability they're casting and how far they are into doing it
> keeping an eye on the boss' debuffs for rotation/dot/debuff related purposes
> keeping an eye on your own buffs and debuffs for boss mechanic related purposes
> also keeping an eye on your own buffs for raid buff/burst window related purposes

There might be even more. There are so many things you need to micromanage as part of just playing one role in one boss. And it is not one singular task that makes the difficulty of a bossfight, it's the total load of it, the fact that you need to do all these things at the same time.
So of course if you play with mods that take part of that load off of you, you are making the game easier, you are relegating tasks to software so you can focus on other tasks you haven't yet automated. Yes, your character performs better, but that doesn't mean YOU perform better. Instead, the improved performance/parse gained from focusing on a smaller number of tasks is an ingame advantage that makes use of those programs a cheat.

Addons are bad, and here's why, if the addons are making the endgame content too easy, then you either need to do away with the addons or enter an arms race against the addons. If the latter happens then even people who don't want to use addons will be forced to use it
That's essentially what happened to WoW and I presume it's a large part of why SE is now putting their foot down. Improving the UI is a good idea and I'm hoping it will do a decent job. Parse and addon focused turbonerds need to learn to keep their mouths shut like their predecessors.

All FFXIV addons ive seen are either shit or kinda overpowered, but at the same time its kinda telling that the devs literally say in the post about addons that they've considered implementing the best features of some for the benefit of console players, yet raidtrannies are still bitching that its unfair they broke ToS is extremely fucking autistic

Anyways, speaking of UI, i havent looked hard enough but i might as well ask, is there any way to turn off the buffs that pop up near your character lmao (like the scrolling list when they get applied) for you and your party members?

Thats my only autistic niggle for some reason at this point

You can turn off the flying text but that'll also remove the damage numbers. Character Config -> HUD -> HUD -> uncheck "Display Flying Text"

The plugins I use are great. It was embarrassing that Yoshi claimed it was "too hard" to track which items you've already unlocked when GoodMemory was like a few lines of scripting, and then they finally implemented it as an actual feature. Controller desync fixes, the ability to get rid of obnoxious toast notifications (Changed classes! Your retainer has sold an item!) you can't otherwise turn off, the ability to try on and summon a chat link for items not in your inventory and untradeable on the marketboard, all really useful and none of them are a crutch in Ultimate.

You can do a poor man's slidecast indicator without plugins if people find that really necessary. Just drop an emote on your hotbar. It'll grey out while you're casting, then become available again when the server registers your cast.

In practice I don't really care that much. I just like seeing raidniggers lose their shit on twitter and call everyone else shitters despite the fact that they need third-party tools to do anything in this game.

Watching pyromancer meltdown over the bans for using third party programs.
the mental gymnastic this faggot goes through to justify why using "3rd party tools are not bad and the rules are stinky" is amazing.

"You are so focused on people getting punished you dont even care anymore, on people getting what they deserve"

Grown ass man, ladies and gentlemen.
This fag is so lucky he disabled clips, hes malding and saying so much retarded shit.

doesn't square enix realize that the prelude to the holocaust was hitler not allowing the jews to use their third party programs?

i can't believe square enix would be so insensitive and blind to history, there is LITERALLY zero difference between making parsetrannies not stream the game with their parsie shit up and gas chambers

Oh no, over 80% of the playerbase play the game to have fun and not be miserable smashing their head against a boss for days, or even weeks.
