I'd propose that it is something chatted about a while ago. Rittenhouse. His killing of two foot soldiers and maiming of one of their commanders put some real fear in. The commanders still want to go and are likely out in force... but the foot soldiers who no longer feel immortal aren't coming out in enough force to... do anything.

38% say they'd be happy if RvW were overturned, 20% say they'd be angry. That leaves 42% with no strong feelings. That means 80% of registered voters are either happy or indifferent towards RvW being overturned. In a CNN poll, no less.

Those aren't numbers that suggest a lot of people actually care that much about this issue, especially not to go out and demonstrate about it. And with how much more radical the pro-abortion side has gotten over the years (remember Ralph Northam wanting to legalize post-birth abortion?), it's not really a surprise to me that they've been turning people away who just want it to be safe but rare. I think most pro-lifers are aware that exceptions need to be made in case of harm to the mother and have no problems with that, they just don't want to see abortion conducted on a whim.

So there's a lot of reasons, but I think the biggest right now is that there are just too many other things on the plate for most people to deal with to care about RvW being overturned, especially since that wouldn't ban abortion anyway. When you're focusing on how you can get food on the table and pay the rent, you can't go out and chant and scream and wave signs.

I think it's because there's a certain level of decorum that WASPs prefer to maintain, even under duress. If you hit the point where those people say "Fuck it" and start popping off, things are actually well past "absolute shit" and the time to course correct was probably six months ago.

We are long past that point, where the WASP set has started saying "fuck it".

That happened around the time of the rise of Trump and the fall-out and culminated in the Summer of Floyd and the stealing of the election.

It's possible but unlikely, in my opinion. Occam's Razor says that rather than a conservative judge doing it to preserve the tenebrous status quo by literally creating a historic betrayal of trust, or leaking it to reinforce a position against another guy's blackmail and bullying - why not just leak the blackmail/bullying itself, if that is the case - is less likely than a group which has consistently portrayed a mindset of "if it doesn't suit me, the rules can be ignored at will" doing it because they were losing. Also, there are at least two likely clerk candidates named for left judges... no such thing for conservative judges.

The push for electric cars would "supposedly" help the black out problem. Right now California has put solar panels on every house in a neighborhood. That's great. Until clouds roll over. Then all the houses formerly sending power to the grid now start clawing for power from the grid.

So to help this they will need to mandate battery packs within each house to stabilize such things. Of course if you have your electric vehicle hooked up, well, there's your battery pack.

I think that globalization and the Internet have fucked vast swathes of people. It's been a hyper development of what the industrial revolution was doing anyways.

We are a tribal creature, and we function best in a smallish, tight-knit community. Globalization and the Internet have us constantly aware that there is a vast, incomprehensibly large "community" of everyone in a way that is no longer entirely theoretical, and the mammal in us reacts to that subconsciously aware fact neurotically.

So people create or join these artifical communities, many of them, that seem more manageable. Like, we are in a tribe here, our facebook tribes, our hockey team, whatever. But none of that works either, since they don't fulfill the same function a real community does.

Church at one point was a lure for some people, and Bolshevists have been trying to suplant every other community xenophobically since they first got power. All Marxist ideology has this as perhaps the PRIMARY function. To destroy other communities to make theirs "safe".

You end up being affiliated with dozens of tribes superficially to fulfill that natural lack, and they create clusters of communities, sometimes oxymoronically. Feminists and troons and socialists and LGBT for example.

And they have to get aggressive, since they are insecure, not having real community through such affiliations, and try to destroy outside communities. Shitting on churches, hitching up with troons and BTFOing the TERFs, calling everyone not in the tribe cluster a Nazi, etc.

tl;dr ... The Industrial Revolution, Marxism, Globalization, and the Internet have destroyed the natural functioning of our organizing as genuinely fulfilling communities (in many cases, at least) and were massive mistakes to not address in our understanding as they developed.
